The Malla Reddy Institute of Technology (MRIT) is part of the College of Malla Reddy Group of Institutions (MRGI). The group was formed by Sri in 2002. Ch. Malla Reddy, MLA, Hno'ble Secretary of Labor and Employment, Women and Children Welfare and Skills Development, a prominent educator, is the largest cluster of technical colleges in the state of Telangana (TS), employing 28,000 students and 2,500 staff.  Established in 2008, Malla Reddy Institute of Technology is permanently affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University of Technology, Hyderabad, AICTE-accredited and has a strong vision to provide a world-class education to promising engineers.  The College is situated in a tranquil leafy setting on the Kompally-Bahadhurpally Road across from the RR Forestry Academy in Telangana State. The Malla Reddy Institute of Technology was accredited by the NBA in 2019. The college was founded in 2008. It has its unique identity in affiliated colleges of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad. CSE and Civil Engineering students ranked first among colleges of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad in the academic years 2010–11 and 2014–15. Each year, the university organizes a student festival that offers students numerous opportunities to express themselves and bring out innate talents useful in building their careers.  Students are also encouraged to participate in specialist lectures at other academic institutions.

A separate enclave is available for science students. A reading room is also planned for the comfort of the students. The digital library consists of 30 computer systems with 100 Mbit/s Internet connection for access to electronic journals, e-books, e-learning, etc. In addition, a multimedia center and a photocopier have been made available for the convenience of users. There are National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) facilities for access to video conferencing and interlibrary loan subscriptions (DELNET) for resource sharing.  The library is fully computerized and has a barcode system. 

Boys Hostel:
