Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College has found a distinct spot in the educational map of South Tamilnadu. It is a unique Alma Mater to a galaxy of eminent men and women shining in various realms of life in India and abroad. This educational temple was founded due to the untiring efforts of the Tamilnadu Naidu Mahajana Sangam. The former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr.KalaingarM.Karunanidhi inaugurated the college on 18th August, 1974 and the foundation for the college building was laid by Cavalier Mr.G.K.Devarajulu Naidu.
The renowned educational organization ‘Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College’, Madurai has created a niche on the educational map of South India. It is a unique alma mater and has shaped a galaxy of eminent men and women shining in various realms of life in India and abroad. This academic epitome become installed with the aid of using the untiring efforts of the philanthropic organization, ‘Tamilnadu Naidu MahajanaSangam’, “below the patronage ofLike-minded patrons” in 1974 for the welfare, advantage, and improvement of the educationally and economically backward Telugu speak me Naidu minority community.
The college has been christened with the name of ‘Mannar Thirumalai Naicker’, the most notable king of this region of the ancient past who has left a rich legacy and heritage to the city of Madurai, whose dictum was “To rule is to serve”. Undoubtedly, this dictum is carried forward by the college over the span of forty-five years nurturing the young minds to educate and live strong in the macrocosm taking with them the efficacy of the college ‘Mannar Thirumalai Naicker’.
Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai is approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and affiliated with Madurai Kamaraj University.
Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Computer Applications, Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), etc Postgraduate Degrees i.e Master of Science (M.Sc.) Computer Science, Master of Science (M.Sc.) Hostel:
Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College Women’s Hostel was established on June 2013. Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College accommodates more than 150 students. The Hostel is equipped with all amenities and provides a comfortable stay and healthy and hygienic food to the students. Rooms will be cleaned regularly. We have facilities for Medical Emergencies and our Residential tutors and hostel staff are available for helping the students at any time.
Medical Facilities:
Medical facilities and recreational facilities are available. Hostel students have the special privilege of learning Hindi. Prayer is conducted every day in the Hostel to inculcate the values of integrity, peace, and harmony in the minds of the students. The principal is the Warden, assisted by the Deputy Warden, selected from the teaching staff.
Gym:
The Gymnasium is nicely geared up with devices to enhance the body and supply corrective measures for decreasing weight problems and to hold bodily fitness.
Library:
The library is fully automated. The college library has an area of 12521 sq.ft and it contains 39108 books at present and effort are afoot to increase the number of books in the forthcoming years. A book bank caters to the needs of SC/ST students. Students are allowed to prepare for competitive examinations and entrance examinations. A total number of 59 National and International Journals, 31 magazines and periodicals are being subscribed. Computer automation facility is available for quick access and retrieval of day to day function of the library activities. A separate P.G library is accommodated withinside the P.G block.
Sports:
A large playground is a part of an infrastructure facility provided to the students in the college. Although participation in all games is encouraged, a special facility in the form of training under the supervision of experienced coaches in games like Volleyball, Basketball, and Football exists on campus. Intra Collegiate competitions are arranged for indoor games like Badminton, Chess, and Carom.
Auditorium:
The college auditorium (Lakshmi Ammal Veerappa Naicker Auditorium) has audio-visual facilities and can accommodate 2000 persons. There is a guest room for VIPs and a green room for the cultural program artists. The auditorium is used for various purposes as follows: 1. College auditorium is utilized for organizing seminars, conferences, and cultural and academic programs. 2. College offers its premises and other facilities as a venue for the assembly, panchayat elections, and public awareness programs.
Transport Facility:
The College has made proper arrangements with TNSTC authorities and four city buses are operated from the college campus exclusively for girls. Two buses are commuting from College to the Periyar bus stand. Also, buses to Tirumangalam and Annanagar commute from the college.
In the case of P.G.Courses, the applicants need not wait for the publication of the sixth-semester results. The eligibility for the undergraduate courses is a pass in +2 or any other equivalent degree recognized by Madurai Kamaraj University.
