It turned into the dream of the primary Bishop of Marthandam His Grace Most Rev. Lawrence Mar Ephraem, to establish and provide a tertiary education for students who have completed Secondary education. Consequently, the Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology was established in 2009 at Elavuvilai, Marthandam. The aim of Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology has always been to provide a quality education that keeps abreast of emerging technologies and progress.

Fine Arts Club:

Fine Arts club encourages students with special talents to exhibit their skills in various competitions held inside and outside our college. Many students have participated in this and won many prizes. It’s our firm belief at Mar Ephraem, that to enhance student skills, he or she must be provided with opportunities to explore their creativity. The vision of this club is to provide students a platform for artistic endeavors, to tap their artistic talents and hone them. Mar Ephraem conducts Cultural programs such as dance, art exhibitions, and drama programs several times during the year to encourage the creative pursuits of the students. Students form teams and share responsibility for organizing the events.

NCC:

To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and the ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country. To create a human aid of organized, educated, and influenced youth, to offer management in all walks of existence, and continues to be had for the provider of the nation. The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline”. ‘Unity’ implies our basic oneness, the brotherhood of all the Indian people regardless of their caste, color, or creed. Likewise, ‘Discipline’ is the very bedrock on which any nation is founded. It is for these reasons this has been adopted as the motto of the NCC.

Sports:

Sports are given equal weightage as academics. “One man cannot make a team”. We provide an invaluable opportunity for our students to interact, keep fit, pursue excellence, and work in teams. sports activities centers are giant and well-equipped, catering to an extensive variety of sports activities. It aims to develop students' physical competence and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use these to perform in a wide range of activities associated with the development of an active and healthy lifestyle. 

Alumni Association:

To promote and foster mutually beneficial interaction between the Alumni and the faculty of our College and between the Alumni themselves.

To encourage the formation of Chapters as a means to increase participation of Alumni in the overall development of the college and the Society.To maintain and update the database of all the alumni of the college for the benefit and progress of the present students in campus placements.

Hostel:

To facilitate and accommodate the distant students to pursue their studies in a “family atmosphere” To create a learning environment to excel in their studies. To enable the hostellers to cultivate good spiritual, social, and interpersonal values in order to cope with multifarious and unexpected situations in the future. The hostellers themselves are personally responsible to safeguard their valuable belongings. Always keep the cupboard locked with quality locks. The movement Register is kept with the security guard at the entrance of the hostel and should be signed properly. All cases of illness must be immediately reported to the warden. In case of serious illness, the guardian must take charge of the student.

Library:

The Library is functioning under the open access system and has a total collection of 13822 Volumes with 4801 titles. Circulation (i.e. issue, renewal, and return of books) takes place through Barcode System. All details of the Library collections are fed into the Computer software and Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is provided to our users. 96 print periodicals including 48 international journals are being subscribed in our Library. E-Library with 837 e-journals, 552 CD ROM Database, 558 NPTEL video lectures and web courses in various disciplines, Question bank facility, which can be accessed throughout the campus via our intranet. 

Admission

For candidates belonging to Other Communities (OC) of Tamil Nadu State / Other State: a minimum average of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.For candidates of Backward class Community (BC) and BC (Muslims) of Tamil Nadu State: a minimum average of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.For candidates of Most Backward class Community (MBC) & DNC of Tamil Nadu State:a minimum average of 40% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.For candidates of SCA/SC/ST community of Tamil Nadu State: a mere pass with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
