Maruthi Educational Trust started Maruthi College of Education in the year 2007 with an intake of 100 students with the approval of NCTE, No. F.SRO/NCTE/B.Ed/2006-2007/8656, Dated: 24/10/2006 and Tamil Nadu government. Our college is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University-Chennai. Every year students who have passed the UG degree with the required percentage of marks are admitted. The college has been producing more than 95% results every year and more than 50% of them could get job opportunities in private institutions and government schools. In the academic year 2013 - 2014, the college is accredited with a " B " Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

Our college campus is very spacious surrounded by green trees, well-equipped labs, a library, a conference room, a play area, a college bus etc., We have excellent classroom facilities for our students. It is very calm with fresh air circulation inside the room, which enables students to concentrate on their studies. All classrooms are very well-ventilated and everyone has conveniently seated. Our classrooms are free from noise pollution Our institutions are constructed in a spacious building as per statutory norms laid by the NCTE and affiliating Universities. The college is situated in a very ideal and lush green atmosphere away from the noise and pollution of city life.

Computer Laboratory - The college has an ICT Centre that can accommodate 20 students at a time. The centre is maintained by a qualified staff, who also conducts theory and practical classes for the students. The Centre is available during and after class hours.

MCOE Physical Science -

To provide maximum pupil activity, practical work is made a prominent feature in the B.Ed. Course. The Physical Science Laboratory of the college has a good collection of both Physics and Chemistry working and static models, equipment, apparatus and chemicals, related to high and higher secondary levels. The laboratory provides practical training to the student teachers on different occasions.

* Students rehearse the experiments to be performed in their respective schools during preliminary and intensive teaching practice.

* They perform experiments and maintain a practical record notebook.

MCOE Biological Laboratory -

The college has an ICT Centre that can accommodate 20 students at a time. The centre is maintained by a qualified staff, who also conducts theory and practical classes for the students. The Centre is available during and after class hours.

MCOE Psychology Laboratory -

A Psychology Laboratory is maintained by the college in which experiments in Psychology are conducted as part of the B.Ed. practical curriculum

MCOE ICT Resource Centre -

This centre has LCD and OHP projectors, slide projectors and other equipment to aid the teaching-learning process. Under the guidance of a qualified Audio Visual Technician, student teachers make use of the centre for instructional training.

MCOE Language Laboratory -

With the objective of actively involving students in English learning, the Language Laboratory has been developed which could accommodate 20 students at a time.

MCOE Sports -

Well-laid court for Volleyball, Football, Basket Ball, Kabbadi, Hand Ball, Ball Badminton, etc. for sports activities.

Minimum Qualification for Admission

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed): Any recognized Bachelor's Degree in any discipline of a minimum 3 years duration.

With Preferred pattern 10+ 2+ 3+ or equivalent qualification as set by Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai-5

Master of Education (M.Ed): He/she has passed a Bachelor's Degree Examination in Education of this University or any other University recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto, with a minimum of 50% marks in theory and practical components separately.
