MIET Kumaon has been established by the Dev Bhoomi Foundation, a trust incorporated for the sole purpose of furthering higher education in Uttarakhand. The trustees of Dev Bhoomi Foundation are well known for their philanthropic efforts in the fields of primary education, higher education and medicine. Over the past three decades, they have set up several Engineering Colleges, Schools of Pharmacy, Business Schools, CBSE-affiliated schools and hospitals in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

MIET Kumaon Residential Accommodations:

MIET Kumaon provides on-campus accommodation for students. Separate hostels for girls and boys are available on campus. The hostels are well equipped and rooms are furnished with single/double/triple/quadruple occupancy and Internet connectivity. Rooms are furnished with beds, mattresses, study tables, and wardrobes. Mess functions under the control of students on co-operative basis.

The institute has its own fleet of over 6 buses that ply several routes across Haldwani and its neighbouring areas. Students are charged on a no profit no loss basis.

A senior Medical Officer is available daily on campus to provide medical consultation to students and staff. The Medical Officer also dispenses medicines free of cost for common ailments. In addition, the Institute provides 24 hours ambulance service in association with Dayanand Nursing Home located at Begum Bridge (The heart of the town) to cope with any medical emergency. In cases of emergency, MITians are referred to Subharti Medical College and hospital located close to the campus.
