The congregation of the Sisters of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament was founded on 8th December 1908 at Champakulam near Changanassery, Kerala by the Servant of God Thomas Kurialassery, the first Bishop of Changanassery with the co-operation of its first member Mother Mary Chantal. The seed of the Holy Eucharist which our founder sowed at Champakulam started to grow and flourish as a big tree first in Kerala and the world around. Besides the Eucharistic Apostolate, we extend our services in the fields of education, healing, social welfare, and missionary activities according to the need of the time and place. We participate in the healing ministry of the Eucharistic Lord in order to give healing to the whole person and thus to continue the redemptive work of the Lord in the present day. The Mercy College of Nursing is attached to Mercy Hospital Pothy, Thalayolaparambu, Kottayam District, which was established in December 1973. The hospital aims at sharing the Lord’s Love through healing ministry. The Hospital is well equipped and managed by the Sisters of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, S.H.Province, Ernakulam. The integrated program of General Nursing and Midwifery course started in the year 1996. In the year 2013 GNM program is upgraded to B, Sc. Nursing program. The College of Nursing is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences Thrissur and recognized by Indian Nursing Council and Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council. The College has the infrastructure facilities and an excellent learning situation. The students can acquire knowledge and skill in an atmosphere where they can avail it from various sources as they wish.

Thus It has been upgraded from a traditional library to an automated library, further to electronic, and now to the digital library. This changing role of the library has been very well acknowledged by the library of the College. We have an excellent library. It has a treasure trove of information and over a decade now the library has come a long way in terms of its resources as well as the services that it provides to its user.

Computer Lab:

The computer lab serves as the center for teaching computer use to whole classes, usually by a specialist computer teacher. Classroom teachers also use the lab with their classes for research, or for creating technology-based projects. Computers help students to learn about the world and know what is happening in it. It helps them to aim for excellent jobs in the future and succeed in it. The computer has become a standard of education throughout the world. This makes computer education important. We have a computer lab with a suitable number of computers for the use of students.

Hostel:

An operational Girls Hostel, just behind the academic block. The residence will be a model for comfortable living and learning for our students. It will consist of spacious living areas with a Wi-Fi facility and an en-suite bathroom. Communal spaces are large, airy, and designed to foster work and socializing in comfort.
