The College was renamed after Late Shri Dr. Gangadhar Yashwantrao Pathrikar who was a great administrator, Educationalist, and one of the Ex-Secretary of MGM. With a futuristic vision of the growing importance of Computer Science and Information technology in the field of education, Sir had started the first branch of Computer Science in Marathwada region.

Dr. G. Y. Pathrikar College of Computer Science and Information Technology was established by MGM in 2001 with a vision of a social, ecological, and economic environment striving continuously for excellence in total quality education, research, and technological service to the nation and to upgrade students in all respect with the help of latest infrastructure in the area of Computer Science in order to build the National Capabilities, to understand the culture of Non-violence, truth, peace through Gandhian philosophy. The College is ISO 9001:2015 Certified, ISO 14001:2015 Certified & NAAC Re-Accredited with an ‘A’ Grade, making it one of the best Computer Science colleges in the Marathwada Region. The College has 48 faculty members including a majority of highly qualified and experienced Ph.D holders. Currently, College has a strength of 1033 students. The college offers various graduate and postgraduate degree programs in Computer Science, Information Technology, Animation, and Data Science.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Animation Studio:

The Studio has well-equipped PCs with the latest Software. Students can perform 2-D and 3-D animation along with the VFX Software. Students can develop their own short films starting with StoryWritting, Storyboard, and Shooting the film on Croma For editing the video VFX software has provided to transform it into the perfect story.

Auditorium:

The auditorium with state-of-the-art multimedia system having a sitting capacity of near about 1500 seats. It is frequently used for presentations, seminars, fests, and events of the college. The College Auditorium has a fixed stage and can accommodate thousand and five hundred of the audience comfortably. It is a perfect venue for musical, dance, theatre, and film performances, as well as lectures, conferences, and graduations.

Computer Lab:

This Laboratory is used by All the Students for carrying out Practicals related to Programming languages such as C, C++, Java, PHP, Android, MATLAB, etc. The student has access to both offline and online services.

Class Room:

A total of 14 Classrooms with Projectors are available in the college that is comfortably furnished and equipped to create the necessary learning atmosphere. The space planning, furniture layout, and Audio-Visual resources combined enhance the Teaching-Learning Experience.

Canteen:

The canteen has all modern amenities with facilities for dining, snacks, and cold and hot drinks. Modern amenities include coffee, tea, and soup dispensers, Microwave Ovens, and deep freezers. The canteen also includes STD/PCO communication facility for students. Also, additional facility using a calling card Facility is also established at the main gate. The parking area on the whole campus is 3212 Sqm. With a capacity of 1400 two-wheelers and 16 4-wheelers.

Admission

MGM Dr. G. Y. Pathrikar College of CS & IT, Aurangabad offers undergraduate (UG), and postgraduate (PG) level programs. The college admission process generally begins in the month of April for PG programs and in May for UG programs.

MGM Dr. G. Y. Pathrikar College Computer Science and Information Technology offers training and placement opportunities for final-year candidates at the most well-reputed companies and industry giants. As these candidates go through the Placement cell which provides counseling along with training cum mock interviews to the aspirants before facing the campus process. During the academic 2019-20 the institute organized an in-house training program of 15 days by Infosys and successfully placed 50 plus students from undergraduate with a basic median salary of INR 1.8-2.5 LPA in most reputed tech giants such as Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Tech-M and so on around PAN India.
