The Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College was established by the Tamilnadu Educational & Medical Foundation (TEAM Foundation ) in 1994. Sri. Lalchand Munoth, Chairman of the Foundation came forward with a donation of Rs.25 lakhs in 1994 and made it possible to realize the dream of late. Dr. C. L. Metha, Secretary of the Foundation, and himself to establish a technical college in Chennai. The college was named after the Chairman’s father Late Sri. Misrimal Navajee.

The college has state-of-the-art infrastructure and it is located on a sprawling campus measuring 16.86 acres of land out of which 5 acres of land were acquired by the college in the year 2001. The college has a built-up area of over 3, 49,000 sq. ft.

Residential Accommodations:

Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College Boy’s Hostel is located on the college campus. Every student is provided with a chair, table, cot, coat stand, and other required facilities. Two residential wardens are staying with the students to take care of them.

The Central Library is housed in the main building of the campus and it caters to the information needs of the user community. In addition, every department has its library for quick reference. It has 59224 volumes of textbooks and reference books covering all disciplines of Science, Engineering, Technology, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The library has a separate collection of books under the Book Bank scheme. The Central Library subscribes to Elsevier’s Engineering + Computer Science E-Journals package which contains 275 International Journals online and 68 National and International Journals in print. All the activities of the library were automated using library software with a Web-OPAC facility. The library has NPTEL facilities which contain 1006 Video Courses (41500+ Lectures) and 433 Web Courses (16430+ Lectures) by Eminent Professors from reputed Higher Educational Institutions across the Country. The library has access to National Digital Library’s resources.

Computing Facility:

MNMJEC Institutions is equipped with sophisticated computer labs with the high configuration of Intel Core i3/i5/Cor2 Duo machines from Acer/ HCL/ IBM. Facilities like printers and scanners are provided in every computer lab. All computer labs are air-conditioned and are connected to 24 hr a. Internet facility with dedicated 100 Mbps 1:1 bandwidth from ISPs.

Medical Facilities:

The institute has a dispensary on campus to meet the first aid and routine medical requirements of the students free of cost. In the dispensary, consultation is also provided to the members of the faculty and staff of the institute. A senior medical officer along with other supporting staff – pharmacist, nursing orderly, and ward boy are there to attend to the students, faculty, and staff. One qualified Medical Officer (on a part-time basis) & a Nurse have been appointed in our college. The Nurse is available on all working days. Staff & students can avail of the facility if they are found to be sick. In addition to this Apollo, Shine Trust has installed a Medical Centre with qualified medical professionals in the interest of the students and all employees of the college.

Sports Facilities:

The department is full-fledged with vast playgrounds catering to international standards for track and field events. An adequate number of Basketball, Volleyball, and Ball Badminton courts are available. The department maintains Cricket, Tennis, Handball, Kabaddi, Football, and Hockey courts and a 400m athletic track of international standards available exclusively for men and women. Experienced groundsmen maintain these courts to standards. In addition to outdoor courts, indoor courts for Carom, Table Tennis, and Shuttle Badminton both for men and women are well equipped with floodlight arrangements. Staff vs. student matches are organized to develop a cordial relationship between them.

Cafe/Mess Facility:

There is a ‘ Cafeteria ’ where Tea, Coffee, Snacks, Tiffin, etc., are available at a concessional rate on the college campus. Periodical checks are made to see that the quality of food items is maintained.

Training And Placement

The Placement and Training Cell is headed by Mr. M.K.T. Nivas Kumaar, M.Tech, B.Tech. The department interacts with top-notch companies for accreditation and placement drive. It has well-equipped conference rooms and separate well-furnished rooms for interviews and counseling. The department is designed to function with a high degree of professionalism.

The Placement and Training Division provides maximum-quality placement opportunities to its students. One of the key strengths of placement training at MNMJEC is that it has able and effective in-house training in Soft Skills and General Aptitude. Our trainers will provide training for a third year & final year B.E/B.Tech students. MNMJEC has been accredited by M/s.Infosys also has a tie-up for final-year internships and projects.
