Madras Medical College in Chennai offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including MBBS, B.Pharm, BPT, B.Sc (Nursing) at the undergraduate level, and MD, MS, M.Pharm, and M.Sc (Nursing) at the postgraduate level. Eligibility Criteria:
Open Category: Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in Botany/Biology and Zoology combined and a minimum of 50% marks in Physics and chemistry combined. Students must note that the total aggregate percentage of marks should not be less than 70% (i.e. 140 out of 200).

Selection Criteria:

15% of seats are allocated on an All India Basis, while 85% of seats are filled through State Quota, followed by counseling.
Backward Class & Backward Class (Muslim): Candidates need to achieve a minimum of 50% marks in Botany/Biology and Zoology combined, as well as a minimum of 50% marks in Physics & Chemistry combined.  The total aggregate percentage of marks should not be less than 65% (i.e. 130 out of 200).

SC & ST: A minimum of 40% marks in Botany/Biology and Zoology combined, and a minimum of 40% marks in Physics & Chemistry combined are required. The total aggregate percentage of marks should not be less than 40% (i.e. 80 out of 200).
Physically Disabled: Candidates are required to obtain 45% marks in aggregate.
Most Backward & Denotified Communities: Applicants should secure a minimum of 50% marks in Botany/Biology and Zoology combined, and a minimum of 50% marks in Physics & Chemistry combined.  The total aggregate percentage of marks should not be less than 60% (i.e. 120 out of 200).

Key Points:

  1. Candidates who are Tamil Nadu natives but completed their schooling outside the state must produce a Nativity Certificate.
  2. Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2024.
  3. 85% of MBBS seats are reserved for Tamil Nadu natives under the State Quota.
  4. For admission to Government Medical Colleges and Self-Financing Medical Colleges, 85% of the total available seats are exclusively reserved for Tamil Nadu students.
  5. Candidates applying under special Category and Sports Quota must submit an additional form supporting their candidature along with an extra fee
