Model College was established in M.I.D.C. Dombivli (East) in the year 1989. Since then, the college has grown phenomenally. In the last 13 years, it has been providing not only traditional grant-in-aid courses in Commerce but also self financing, job oriented courses in Commerce stream like BMS, B.Com Accounting and Finance, B.Com Banking and Insurance and B.Com Financial Markets. Apart from these, there are other professional courses being offered like B.Sc Information Technology, BSc Computer Science, Bachelor in Mass Media and Science at junior college level to cater to the demands of the industry. The college is also running centre for post graduate courses M.Com in Accountancy, Management and Banking and Finance from the year 2009.

Library Facilities
The library occupies a prime position in any college. It is spread over 1800 sq. ft. It is a combination of the reading room and the multiple-book section. It has got an impressive collection of books.

The university has different laboratories regarding subjects. The main aim is to accomplish theoretical knowledge to practical knowledge.
ANTI-RAGGING
The University Grants Commission vide its letter no F.1-16/2007 (CPP-II) dated June 17, 2009, has reiterated the ban on ragging of college students in Institutions of Higher Learning. The college students are consequently directed to desist from any form of ragging strictly.

Sports Facilities
Various sports activities are undertaken by the gymkhana of the Model College Dombivli throughout the year. Competitions are held in chess, carrom, table tennis, volleyball, football, kho-kho, kabaddi, athletics, boxing, handball, cricket, etc.
Cafe/Mess Facility:
There is the availability of the college canteen for students and faculties to have their lunch-brunch over there. The quality of food is monitored by the canteen committee and proper hygiene is ensured by the college.
Selection will be based on merit in the qualifying exam followed by the counseling.
