The Modern Education Society, Pune has been carrying out its legacy since 15th February 1932. With the efforts of its founders, Prin. V. K. Joag, and the Wadia brothers, Sir Cusrow Wadia and Sir Ness Wadia, MES has become one of the most cherished educational institutions in India. The Modern Education Society came into being as a regular registered Educational Society formally at a meeting of its founder members at the Cowasjee Dinshaw Library Hall. True to Its credo 'For the Spread of Light', the Society pioneered efforts to open the portals of higher education to the residents of eastern parts of Pune and pursued them tirelessly through the last eighty resplendent years. Society today has seven institutions in the bustling cities of Pune and Mumbai. Courses Offered

Modern Education Society courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e Bachelor of Engineering (BE) Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (BE) Computer Engineering, etc. You can also find a brief overview of the different courses offered by the university across various disciplines with their specializations on the Course page.

Residential Accommodations:

The College provides Hostel Accommodation on the premises for boys and girls. Hostels are equipped with all modern amenities conveniences and comforts. The rooms are well-ventilated and suitably furnished. A new hostel is constructed with an independent facility block containing separate mess and reading halls for boys and girls. The new hostel can provide accommodation for up to 410 boys and 331 girls. Round-the-clock security is provided to both hostels and it is under CCTV surveillance. Dr. Prakash N. Chaudhary, Vice Principal of Ness Wadia College of Commerce is the Warden of the boys’ Hostel. The College Hostel, located within the college campus, consists of two blocks, one each for boys and girls.

Library:

The college library is the main center for students to carry out their scholastic activities. It helps students to get knowledge from different sources such as Text and Reference Books, Magazines, E-journals, and modern e-learning resources. The Library occupies an area of around 450 sq.Mtrs. In addition to this, it consists of the reading hall which can accommodate 200 students The Library is fully automated using SLIM 21 WEB OPAC Software. The Library has a separate Digital Section to access the Digital Library with upgraded multimedia Pcs.

The Library has a collection of approx. more than 40000 Books. The library subscribes to online full-text databases ( Science Direct - Elsevier, IEEE ASPP + POP, ASME – American Society for Mechanical Engineers ) The Library has a collection of 18030 NPTEL Lecture videos, delivered by IIT professors.

Gymnasium

There is a separate area for the Gents and Lady's gymnasium in the college. The gymnasium is well equipped with all the modern machines and gears to ensure smooth and regular training of the students.

Sports Facilities:

The students of the college have participated in Sports activities organized at the Inter-Collegiate, Inter-Zonal, Inter-University, State, and National levels. Students have brought credit to the College by winning various prizes, Medals, Shields, and General Championships many times. Many of the Students have got the honor of being selected in various tournaments held in different parts of the Country at various levels. Our students do extremely well in various events like Cricket, Football, Hockey, Athletics, Boxing, Best Physique, Basketball, Handball, Cycling, Badminton, etc. Since its establishment in 1969, College has maintained an outstanding sports record. Having won several prizes and awards over the years it has produced a galaxy of Sportsmen and Women.

Placements

The placement cell has maintained a good and strong relationship with Industries across the country and as a result, has built up an impressive placement record both in terms of the percentage of students placed, as well as the number of companies visiting the campus. The T&P Cell organizes various training & personality development programs to ensure that the students are industry-ready. It also assists the departments in organizing Technical Workshops, Guest Lectures, and factory/plant visits for its students to some major industries in and around Pune.
