Modern Engineering & Management Studies (MEMS) has been established in the year 2008 for promoting technical education in the field of Engineering and Management etc for aspiring youth. It is built in a well-planned pollution-free environment. It is located in Balasore, the Sand City of Orissa, and the Missile Test Centre of India. Built-in an area of about 1,00,000 square feet of technical infrastructure, it promises to provide the best possible technical education in Orissa. The campus is built at Banparia on NH 5 near Kuruda, which is only 5 Km from Balasore Railway Station and the Bus Stand.

The infrastructure comprises huge air-conditioned well-furnished classrooms, seminar halls, lecture halls, various laboratories with adequate equipment, a workshop, a well-stocked library, and continuous power backup with an internet facility. The lush green campus spreads over 12 acres with a spacious playground, fitness center, outdoor sports facilities, indoor games, departmental store, and canteen. Facilities and Infrastructure

Library:

The Central Library of the college has a vast collection of over 21,000 information resources that include technical and general volumes, ready references, encyclopedias, theses, magazines, CD-ROMs, and newspapers. These resources are upgraded every year and subscriptions are renewed for technical journals of national and international acclaim.

Reading Materials have been shelved very conveniently for ease of reference. Library Staff members are always available to help students and staff alike.

Materials are issued on a fortnightly basis to students and on a semester basis to faculty and staff. Patrons are advised to produce their College Photo ID for checking out materials. Overdue charges should be enquired about at the checkout counter while issuing reading materials.

The Library has a big Reading Room for students with a huge collection of reference books and magazines. Daily Newspapers are also readily available for reading. Patrons are advised to produce College Photo-ID before using the Reading Room facilities.

In addition to the above, the college subscribes to E-Journals from various service providers to cope with the latest trend in the field of Science & Technology, and Management Studies. 10 numbers of systems with internet facilities are available in the library for this purpose.

Seminar Hall:

MEMS has one conference hall and one seminar hall equipped with audiovisual, and multimedia facilities designed for conducting seminars, workshops, orientation programs, etc. at the institute level for the continuous development of students and faculty. They are well-equipped to make each seminar very professional and crisp. Experts from different fields are invited to address and enlighten the students with their knowledge and experience.

Internet :

The college has 24-hour 10 MBPS broadband connectivity. The departments are networked with LAN/WAN, connecting all the labs, staff rooms, and library. The Network operation center is equipped with two IBM servers and hosts for the different software. There are more than 410 computers with the latest configuration in all the labs. The campus has become a wireless campus by implementing WI-FI technology by which the students and staff of MEMS can access the complete network and browse the internet sitting anywhere on the campus.

Hostel:

The institution provides ample facilities for hostel accommodation for both boys and girls. There are two separate girls' hostels( one within the campus and one outside the campus) and two boys' hostels likewise. The hostels are spacious, safe, and secured with a cordial environment and surrounded by pleasant landscapes. The hostels have self-contained two/three seater rooms which are spacious. A hygienic kitchen has been provided in each hostel with large dining halls. All the hostels have round-the-clock WI-FI connections and medical facilities. MEMS has four hostels accommodating nearly one thousand students. Proper hygienic condition and strict supervision is maintained throughout. Several newspapers, as well as magazines, are subscribed and TV is also provided to get relaxed during leisure and also to get them updated.

Sports:

Sport is all forms of competitive physical activity that, through casual or organized participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical fitness and provide entertainment to participants. There is a sports center functioning to ensure the needs of sports activities of the departments in the educational complex. A large playground on the campus is well-equipped for cricket, football, volleyball, and other Indian games. The latest facilities consist of a squash court, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Swimming pool, gymnastics, and various other Indoor games.

Cafeteria:

The student canteen provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the students staying in the hostels and day scholars as per their requirements. It also serves Chinese foods as well as Oriya and Bengali cuisine. The cafeteria provides dry snacks, soft drinks, Tea, and Coffee. The prices, hygiene, quality, and other services provided by the canteen managers in these canteens are constantly monitored by the canteen committee of the college.

ATM Facility:

A branch of the State Bank of India is functioning within the campus with ATM Facility. It also provides financial assistance in terms of study loans to the students.
