Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya, Kolkata formerly known as Charuchandra Evening College, was established in 1985 and the institution has been renamed as Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya (New Ballygunge College) with effect from 2005. College is a co-educational with Commerce and Arts streams. Efforts are being made to introduce a Vocational Stream. Honors courses in several subjects of both Arts and Commerce are taught in this three-year degree college. With growing popularity, Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya began to win laurel after laurel in the field of cultural activities, games, and sports and for academic performance. Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya has a long tale to tell. It has traveled a long way and then taken its present shape and form. The 15th of July, 1985 is a red-letter day in the annals of educational activities in South Kolkata. It was on that date that the college saw the light of day, steering through a lot of impediments.

The college boasts a large auditorium where many programs are held annually.

Separate common rooms have been provided for girls and boys students and there are provisions for indoor games and other co-curricular activities.

Seminar Hall:

The college organizes seminars on various issues and arranges workshops on emerging issues with the financial assistance of UGC or otherwise as and when necessary. Admissions of Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya

Like most colleges in India Naba College conducts its admission process through specific online applications and counseling sessions for respective programs. The basic Eligibility for UG courses is 10+2 and graduation degree for PG courses.

For B.com and BA, the candidate must have successfully passed 12th Standard/HSC/10+2. From a recognized board.

There is a general or direct admission facility for BA and B.com courses.

For Honour courses, admission is taken based on merit. MA in Bengali students must have completed their Bachelor's degree (preferably in Bengali)

For M.com students must have completed graduation in B.Com./ B.B.A./ B.B.S. or another equivalent degree.

For M.com Final selection will be based on the candidate's overall performance in his bachelor's degree as the admission is based on a merit list.
