Naipunnya Institute of Management and Information Technology (NIMIT) is a leading professional education institution in Kerala, offering a range of multi-disciplinary, research-oriented, and student-centered courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a part of the University of Calicut.  Located in a scenic location with state-of-the-art infrastructure, NIMIT is one of the finest institutions of its kind in South India, dedicated to the professionalism, discipline, and holistic development of our students.  From the beginning, NIMIT's goal has been to gain recognition for the quality of professional training and creative activities that shape and motivate young people to fulfill their potential, face future challenges, and achieve their dreams and aspirations.  Operated by the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly, Naipunnya Institute of Information Management and Technology (NIMIT) was established in 1998 as a vocational training center serving the needs of the people on campus.  

NIMIT officially opened on June 3, 2002, as an affiliated college of the University of Calicut. In a short time, NIMIT has developed into a sought-after educational institution that has quickly achieved the status of a Center of Excellence. Naipunnya means skill or mastery in Sanskrit. As the name suggests, NIMIT is committed to excellence in teaching, professional training, and community service, and is aligned to meet the state's requirements for higher education.  The institute is characterized by its professional approach, which also gives people from the lower economic classes a platform to develop their skills and potential. Unsurprisingly, it is the first college in Kerala to offer a regular degree in Hospitality Management from a university in Kerala. Today NIMIT has spread its wings with a college in Cherthala in Alleppey District and public schools in Edakkunnu and Thrikkakara. In 2004, NIMIT was awarded the ISO 9001-2008 certificate (increased to 9001-2015) for exemplary standards in student education and training. In 2019, NIMIT was accredited by NAAC with a B++ rating. In recent years, Naipunnya has expanded into various fields of education.

Infrastructure and Facilities:

Naipunnya Institute of Management and Information Technology has a large and well-maintained campus and offers a tranquil learning environment. The buildings are modern and equipped with the latest technology from the Naipunnya Institute of Management and Information Technology, which facilitates teaching and teacher development. The classrooms, units, and laboratories of the Naipunnya Institute of Management and Information Technology are spacious, comfortable, and designed to ensure the highest quality of education. Library: 

The NIMIT (Nibodhi) Library is the primary source of information for the university community. The library is on the ground floor of the main building. All employees and students have the right to use the library for information purposes and to remove books from the library. The library has a collection of over 12,000 books, more than 60 national and international magazines and periodicals, and 10 different newspapers. Electronic resources such as Delnet and Jgate are also available. The NIMIT library is partially automated using KOHA software. The digital library is developed with the DSpace software for teachers and students.

ICT classroom: 

The college is fully equipped with the latest ICT tools to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process. Most classrooms are equipped with well-maintained ICT infrastructure and components. NIMIT features fully technical and easy-to-use classrooms. All classrooms are equipped with fully functional, high-quality projectors, laptops, and WiFi. This encourages students and teachers to try other ICT resources and to use learning management systems such as MOODLE (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment), an online learning platform that offers students personalized learning environments in various ways.  This classroom gear allows teachers to complete online quizzes and assignments in an interesting and engaging way. 

Auditorium: 

The Institute has the Navarang Auditorium, which seats two thousand people. It hosts weekly assemblies, intercollegiate competitions, and other important cultural events on campus. Also, the college has a medium-sized auditorium called Saarang, where various syllabuses and faculty-level examinations are held. The NIMIT auditorium offers space for over 1,000 people. Spacious, well-ventilated, and equipped with all amenities to facilitate the learning process, the auditorium is a vast space that meets a variety of academic and sporting needs.  All exams take place in this spacious room. 

Seminar room: 

The college has two modern, air-conditioned lecture halls with audiovisual support, which serve as venues for seminars, lectures, workshops, and other cultural and programmatic events.  The university has aesthetically designed seminar rooms in which all important workshops and seminars take place. The seminar room is equipped with the latest technology and is well-equipped with multimedia projectors. It can accommodate up to 150 students and interactive sessions are led by management, faculty, staff, and students. Thanks to such a world-class infrastructure, students can enjoy quality education in comfortable conditions.

Computer Lab: 

For practical considerations, NIMIT has three futuristic workstations with around 100 computers and internet devices. The laboratories are fully air-conditioned with an emergency power supply. Approvals. University-wide wireless Internet access connects administration, departments, libraries, and students. IT training such as Microsoft training, language, and practical training can be completed here. The labs can be used by students during classes and on other workdays. 

Cafeteria: 

Jeeavani or Cafe is a long room with tables and chairs that serves as a dining room. This facility can be used by students and scientists. The students can meet up with friends in the canteen or eat healthily in the canteen. Measures are taken to ensure that the food is both nutritious and tasty and is prepared under the most hygienic conditions. The café features exact replicas of hotel restaurants, using furniture and props to create a simulated effect. The café offers relaxation from hectic everyday life. It is an area of informal interactions.

Hostels: 

The college has separate on-campus dormitories for boys and girls, cared for by priests and nuns. The college has an on-campus hostel for NIMIT and Naipunnya Business School. Students who need accommodation in a hostel have the same offer. There is also a women's shelter in cooperation with the college.

Sports ground: 

NIMIT has many sports fields for basketball, volleyball, football, handball, cricket, and tug of war. The college has multifunctional indoor and outdoor playing fields and stadiums. The multi-purpose field is used as an athletics track, cricket field, soccer field, volleyball field, tug-of-war field, volleyball field, and kabaddi field. The multi-purpose indoor stadium serves as a basketball, badminton, and volleyball court. 

Placement: 

In recent years, the Placement Unit has been able to achieve an impressive record in the placement of students. All eligible and interested students have the opportunity to participate in on-campus or off-campus interviews. Each year, all eligible students (100%) in the HM department are accommodated in prestigious hotels.NIMIT ensures that students are prepared and trained according to industry standard requirements. Various supplementary programs and certificate courses are available to increase employability. In addition, the training department offers them ninety hours of soft skills training that prepares them for the future challenges of the industry. 

The internship office works together with the teachers and student coordinators of each faculty. They are assisted by an employment officer who works with the industry to search for vacancies.
