Infrastructure and Facilities

The NSS College (NSSC) Nemmara Technology has a sprawling campus that is well-maintained and provides a serene environment for learning. The buildings are modern and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, NSS College (NSSC) Nemmara Technology making it easier for students to learn and faculty to teach. The classrooms of NSS College (NSSC) Nemmara Technology, lecture halls, and labs are spacious, comfortable, and designed to provide an excellent learning experience. The library is also outstanding, with a vast collection of books, online resources, and knowledgeable librarians.

Library

Our library system consists of a central library and 6 departmental libraries which collectively support the teaching and research programs of the institute and provides facilities for general reading and disseminating information according to the requirement of the users. The central library has been started functional since 1965. It is housed in a separate building with a plinth area of 924 sq. Mtrs. The operations of the library are fully computerized and koha is an open-source integrated library system used for library management functions. Users can search the documents of the library through the online public access catalog (OPAC) is available all around the campus network.

Hostels

The Institute has comfortable and well-furnished residential facilities for all the students admitted to the various courses. There are 3 hostel blocks (halls of residence) for men and 1 for women with an inmate capacity of 483 and 172 respectively. For Ist year girls, separate accommodation is provided in the NSS Working Women hostel, in front of the college. The atmosphere in these hostels gives a feeling of 'home away from home'. Hostel rooms are spacious, which provides a comfortable environment.

The Hostels are under the direct control of the Warden and each hostel is having one or two members of the staff of the college as Assistant Wardens and they shall be responsible for all matters connected with the Hostel. The Warden shall have the power to frame standing orders/ rules to regulate internal matters and other details not explicitly covered by these rules. The Principal is the Ex Officio Chief Warden and his decisions shall be final in the interpretation of rules and all matters connected with the Hostel. Application for admission to hostels should be submitted in the prescribed form to the Warden.

College Bus

The College is presently having 2 buses for the transportation of students and staff residing in Palakkad Town and nearby areas. Buses are operated regularly on all working days of the college with convenient timings. In addition to daily trips, buses are made available to all academic/extracurricular tours/trips of students and staff. The Bus Facility is monitored by the College Bus Committee, which consists of Students, Staff, and PTA representatives.

Auditorium

The college has a well-furnished auditorium, located in the main block. It has a seating capacity of 800 audiences. The auditorium is used for activities such as seminars, guest lectures, cultural activities, important functions and meetings of students and faculties, department functions, and other events. The auditoriums are equipped with the latest public addressing, LCD projectors, and comfortable seats.

Seminar Halls

The college has 1 main Seminar Hall and 5 departmental seminar halls. All are aesthetically designed. The seminar hall is facilitated with the latest technology and is well–equipped with multimedia projectors. which provides a special ambiance for every event. It makes possible an ideal setting for carrying out various conferences and delivering lectures. Each has a seating capacity of 100 people. Each seat is equipped with a pull-out writing ‘tablet’ to support note-taking.

Sports & Games

There is an Outdoor Stadium with 400 m tracks for athletics (and the same is being used for Cricket, Football, and Hockey.) Volleyball Courts, Basketball courts, Ball badminton and Tennis Courts are also available. There is an indoor court for Shuttle Badminton and Table Tennis. Also, there is a Gymnasium with a Multi GYM of 16 stations and other weight-lifting facilities.

Campus

The college is situated in NSS Nagar at Akathethara, 9 km from Palakkad town, the Campus is easily accessible, being only 4 km from the Palakkad Railway Junction, and only 5 km from the renowned Malampuzha Gardens. The nearest Airports are at Coimbatore (55 km) and Cochin International (110 Km). Spread over 125 Acres, it includes an Administrative Block, Separate blocks for each Department, A Library block, and four Hostels including one for Ladies. Nestling among verdant foothills, this is a tranquil and serene setting for higher education.

Placement

Placement, Training & Information Bureau ( P T I B ) is functioning to provide all possible assistance by organizing training programs and providing needful information to students in their efforts to find employment and internship. The PTIB also caters to the needs of various organizations in conducting campus interviews for placements. It is coordinated by a team of senior faculty members headed by the Chief Coordinator assisted by the Placement coordinator, Training coordinator, Internship coordinator, and faculty representatives from all departments. The smooth functioning of the center is achieved through the active involvement of student placement coordinators.

Admission

Located in the foothills of the Akathethara region in Palakkad, the NSS College of Engineering is located in Kerala. The institute is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and was established in 1960 by the Nair Service Society.

Spread over 125 acres, the college includes an administrative block, separate blocks for each department, a library block, and four hostels including one for ladies.

During admissions, NSSCE fills up 85% of the seats on the basis of merit, and 15% of the seats are reserved for management quota.

The institute offers admission to the B.Tech course in 6 specializations and higher Secondary examination-qualified students can apply for the course. Admission to the course will be based on the marks secured in the KEAM. Further, the institute offers admission to the M.Tech course under 6 specializations and 18 in each specialization. GATE-qualified students will get admission to the course.

Coming to placements, many reputed national and multinational companies visit campus recruitment annually. A large number of graduates from NSSCE secure job offers with companies like TATA Consultancy Services, Cognizant, Infosys, WIPRO Ltd, and many others.

Since NSSCE is a government-aided institution, it offers over 16 different scholarships and concessions for all B.Tech and M.Tech degree courses.
