National Law Institute University is a public law school and a National Law University located in Bhopal, India. Established in 1997 by the State of Madhya Pradesh, it is the second law school established under the National Law School system.

Its National Law Institute University campus is located at the top of a hillock close to Kerwa Lake on the Kerwa Dam Road, Bhadbhada in the city of Bhopal. The campus spread is extremely well-groomed and is surrounded by beautiful greenery.
The law school is accredited as a member of the Bar Council of India and is a member of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) in India, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Asian Law Institutes (AIL) and, International Association of Law Schools (IALS). Additionally, NLIU Bhopal also has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with five international universities.
National Law Institute University offers UG, PG, and Doctoral courses in the law stream.

The collection comprises over 100,000 volumes, including close to 15000 of the most prestigious titles as well as numerous journals from around the world.

Admission for the NLIU is done through scores from CLAT or written tests which are conducted by the school itself. CLAT scores are required for admission to bachelor's or master's degrees in Law. Students must satisfy the criteria for eligibility for admission to the university. Students are admitted by virtue of the merit list finalized by the institution.

It offers training sessions for the students to ensure that they become a resilient part of the corporate world with an incredibly professional mindset and well-rounded expertise. They have MoU in place with various firms to provide training. For example Lucerne Switzerland, Queen University of Tech Australia, The University of Western Sydney and many more.

Students from diverse backward classes can be granted discounts as well as scholarships so that they can complete their education without difficulty. Every year, the Government of Madhya Pradesh releases the notice to students to apply for the scholarship via an online application.

Sports, all the while being important physical exercise, also help develop the character of a human being, by teaching them the importance of discipline and practice, and imparting the important lesson on the importance of team work. Hence, the sports committee has undertaken the responsibility of inculcating the environment of Sports in NLIU.
N.V. Ramana, B.Sc., B.L., was born in an agricultural family on August 27, 1957 in Ponnavaram Village, Krishna District. He enrolled as an Advocate on February 10, 1983. He has practiced in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Central and Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunals and the Supreme Court of India in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Labour, Service and Election matters. He has specialized in Constitutional, Criminal, Service and Inter-State River laws.
