NPTI Nagpur has been established by Ministry of Power, Govt. of India in 1975. NPTI Nagpur is Western Regional Institute fulfilling the requirement of training in power sector for Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh states. This institute has been awarded grade ‘A’ category-I in accordance with norms and criteria laid down in the CEA guidelines for Thermal and Transmission & Distribution fields.

The institutes have 11 equipped, air-conditioned class rooms that have all audiovisual aids such as LCD projection to provide a great learning conditions for students.

NPTI Nagpur Library, having more than 10000 texts including reference books and other printed documents, project reports and Audio-Visual material such as CDs/DVDs and e-books, as well as technical periodicals, journals and other electronic resources available through the consortium.
Laboratories
Manufacturing fully equipped Laboratories that specialize in electronic, electrical, thermal and mechanical workshops, and more. to provide the practical experience requirements of students studying BE (Power Engineering.)
Auditorium
The institutes are equipped with an auditorium with air conditioning with seating capacity of 200 equipped with LCD projectors and a the motorized Big Screen.
