N.D.R.K. First Grade College, Hassan was started during the year 1977 with the object of providing better educational opportunities to the students in and around Hassan City under the able and efficient leadership of late Smt. Narayani D R Karigowda and Late Sri D R Karigowda. The college which came into existence in a humble way with just 25 students, is at present imparting education to more than 1200 students every year in the Degree Courses of Arts, Commerce, Business Management and Science.

The institute is affiliated to the University of Mysore, recognised by Government of Karnataka and approved by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
