The NERIM Group of Institutions is a group of colleges established in 1992 by the NERIM Educational Society to promote specialized vocational education in the northeastern region of the country.  The Institute is affiliated with Dibrugarh University, Gauhati University, and Assam University of Science and Technology (ASTU) for various courses. The Technical Education Department of the Assam government initially actively supported the creation of Institutions to promote skills-based vocational education in that part of the country.  

The institute was founded with the main objective of designing and formulating needs-based academic and professional programs independently and in cooperation with other leading management institutes and colleges to teach and train qualified young people who will find employment in a period of 10 years of high job insecurity.  The institution undertakes to make a significant contribution to meet the diverse needs of a representative sample of society through the training of young professionals interested in management, information technology and information technology, education, work, social affairs, applied psychology, teaching education, business, and legal studies.  The institution is dedicated to providing quality education and training to the next generation in skills that open unique pathways to ready-made opportunities and jobs amid high unemployment and career dilemmas.

The institute has a rich library of around 30,000 books in management, information technology, law, economics, social work and psychology, and other related fields of Indian and foreign publications.  The library subscribes to around 55 journal issues, including international journals and periodicals, e.g. Harvard Business Review, International Journal of Research in Marketing, IEEE, EBSCO, Human Resource Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Vikalpa, Indian Journal of IndustrialRelations, Finance India, etc. to name a few.  

Computer room: 

Currently, the NERIM group of institutions has three well-equipped computer labs with more than 500 reconfigured computers with 3 servers, providing students with state-of-the-art computer facilities at a student-to-computer ratio of 1:1. All machines are connected via Wi-Fi with 24/7 internet access. The labs provide students with ample time and opportunity to learn practical skills in the field.

Hostel and bus:

The NERIM group of institutions has six separate, well-equipped residence halls for boys and girls, including a well-equipped 300-bed girls' residence on the university campus, offering comfortable accommodation.  Students who do not live in a dormitory can also use the bus service against payment of the service fee. 

Placement Cell: 

The Institute has a special placement agency that helps find a place for all students participating in the Institute's various programs. This involves placement at the end of an undergraduate program and simultaneous fieldwork after each semester. The Internship Officer acts as a catalyst that facilitates the interaction process between students and potential representatives of the relevant admissions chambers. Job interviews take place on and off campus on a regular basis. Several renowned international and national companies from various industries regularly recruit students from the NERIM institute group. Since its inception to date, more than 500 corporate houses have recruited students.
