The Information & Documentation Center of NIEPMD was established in the year 2005 with the aim of providing information dissemination service, Information Technology & Media service, and Documentation services to the staff, HRD Students, organization, Community & Government functionaries, Rehabilitation Professionals, Persons with Disabilities (Divyangian) and their parents through acquisition, Publications and Research & Development. It plays an important role in satisfying the academic & research mission of NIEPMD and facilitates the creation and dissemination of knowledge. It includes three sections Library, Documentation Center, and Information Technology & Media Center.

To establish and Implement Library and information policies and procedures
To analyze and evaluate information services, technology, and media service requirement for the Information and Documentation center

Documentation centers enable the users by providing current and past activities of NIEPMD and disability-related information to its beneficiaries. This center also preparing of Annual Reports, Monthly Reports, Daily Reports, and ministry-related reports.
NIEPMD Information Technology & Media section:
The information Technology & Media section creates awareness about the disability schemes and programs of NIEPMD to the general public through print, electronic, and Social Media by inviting press officials for coverage of all programs organized by NIEPMD. This unit also has a computer Lab with internet facilities for the use of staff and students to access digital learning resources like e-Journals and e-books. Under dissemination of information, this unit put up stalls at the exhibitions organized by the government & NGOs. NIEPMD Website is designed and managed by the Information Document Centre. The awareness posters, Videos, Government orders, SOPs, etc have been uploaded on the webpage and also circulated via social Media.

?At the reception, the support staff starts the process of registration by collecting all the details of the client and categorizing them into UD or MD. The process of registration is completed by collecting the registration charges and service charges as per the NIEPMD fee structure and then the clients are sent to social work professionals for taking up the case history. The staff at reception also guide the clients to other departments for further treatments and follow-up sessions and also receive inter-office calls, and calls and guide them appropriately about our services, and the availability of cottage and guest houses.
NIEPMD SERVICES
After registration, a case history is undertaken Case History enables the professional to communicate with the patient about his/her symptoms, felling, and fears so as to obtain an insight into the nature of the patient's present and past illness. The data is collected concerning an individual, his/her family, and the environment. It includes the medical history, antenatal natal and postnatal history, developmental history, immunization history, school history and family dynamics, and other information that may be used fully in analyzing and diagnosing the case for instructional or research purposes.
Once the case history is collected, then the client will be referred to other departments for specific assessment and intervention. Apart from regular services, NIEPMD also conducts special clinics in the following specialities-Neurology, Psychiatry, and Dentistry, every month. The Institute also supplies medicines to persons with disabilities for neurological and psychiatric conditions at subsidized prices.

NIEPMD FAMILY COTTAGE SERVICES:
To obviate the need for everyday commutation by persons with multiple disabilities
To encourage multiple disabled persons from all over the country to avail of the services.
To train the clients and educate the parents in a home-like atmosphere.
Family cottages would be provided to families of clients from distant places for not more than one week.
