The Institute is located in the historic city of Hyderabad in Telangana state. The NIRD&PR celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year of establishment in 2008.
National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Hyderabad courses are offered at various levels like Postgraduate Degrees (i.e. PGDM etc) and Doctoral levels and many more. Guest Houses:
There are four guesthouses at NIRDandamp; PR. 1. Himachal (61 rooms); 2. Vindhyachal (45 rooms) 3. Nilgiri (54 rooms) and 4. Block Aravalli (59 rooms). The guest houses provide accommodation for national and international participants of the training programs as well as participants of national workshops/seminars etc, that are conducted all around the year.
Library:
The success of rural development programs, among other things, depends on access to information which is one of the essential inputs of the rural development process. The provision of timely and relevant information to different stakeholders is of prime importance for the effective implementation of development programs and for achieving desired results. Development Communication and Documentation Center (CDC) at NIRDandamp; PR in order to provide information support to the research and training activities of the Institute and also to other members of the development community, has been engaging itself in the identification and collection of rural development literature and its systematic documentation for effective and wider dissemination.
Computer Lab:
The NIRD&PR network provides online services for effective academic, administration functions, e-office, e-journals, NIRD&PR e-JRD, IPKN and has links to vast links to resources of major ministries and departments, state and districts and SIRD/ETC, institutes, research organizations, etc., with 1000 odd hosts in its network range.NIRDandamp; PR gets uninterrupted internet services thanks to its 100 Mbps connectivity and National Knowledge Network with 22 Mbps dedicated link redundancy operated by M/s Railtel Corporation of India. The NIRDandamp network; PR is technology-intensive and provides mail.gov.in domain by NIC, e-office, and caters all the services to the International and National Participants on the campus.
Medical Services and Health Center:
NIRDandamp; PR has an on-campus health centre, which caters to the medical needs of its officers and staff. He has among his roles an elderly male doctor, a female doctor, a dresser, a pharmacist, a personal nurse, a physiotherapist, assistant. The medical centre provides timely first aid and emergency as well as regular medical care to the staff and families residing on the NIRD campus and also participants attending the training programs.
Sports:
NIRD&PR has an indoor Sports Complex constructed in 1999. The sports centre is equipped with a Gymnasium on the first floor, a game of Table tennis and Shuttle badminton halls on the ground floor, and a Swimming pool with washrooms for the benefit of participants of the training programs and PG students. The staff of the Institute and their family members are also permitted to use this facility based on their membership. There are special trainers who train participants/staff for gymnastics and swimming activities.
Conference Halls:
There are 12 Conference Halls in NIRD&PR with capacities ranging from 15 to 100 persons, for conducting training sessions/workshops /seminars by centres to the different stakeholders such as government officials, heads of government rural development institutions, NGOs, etc., involved in the implementation of different government programs.
Auditorium:
NIRD&PR has an auditorium with 350 seat capacity and two adjacent rooms for a huge gathering of staff / VVIPs for the inauguration of important Training Programmes/National workshops etc.
• Entrance Exam Scores: NIRDPR accepts scores from national-level entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, XAT, and CMAT as part of the admission process. These exam scores are considered to assess the candidates' eligibility and suitability for the institute's programs.
• Eligibility Criteria: Candidates are evaluated based on their academic records and performance in the entrance exams.
• Shortlisting: Shortlisted candidates may be called for further rounds, which can include group discussions and personal interviews.
• Final Selection: The final selection is based on the overall performance of candidates in the various stages of evaluation.
• Genuine Interest: NIRDPR looks for individuals with a genuine interest in rural development and a commitment to making a positive impact on society.
