Established in 1969, the Post Graduate College offers opportunities for higher learning to empower young women of all communities. The college is located in Ranchi, the capital of the state of Jharkhand. The college runs UG courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce and PG courses in 5 Arts subjects (Economics, Geography, Hindi, History & Political Science). With a focus on employability, the College runs Bachelor Programme in Vocational subjects like Computer Application, Information Technology.

Facilities and Infrastructure

HOSTEL:

Nirmala College has a three-storeyed hostel located on the campus with 03 wings and a capacity of 450 students. Accommodation is limited to eligible students only.

Wi-Fi ENABLED CLASSROOMS:

The academic building of the College comprises well-ventilated and well-furnished spacious 29 Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, which include 02 smart classrooms with LCD Projectors and smart boards and 02 classrooms with LCD projectors to facilitate a blended mode of teaching-learning. The academic building has an internet facility and most of the departments have laptops and projectors for carrying out ICT-enabled classes to ensure a student-centric pedagogy. 

LABORATORIES:

The College has 04 ICT-enabled laboratories for Science (Botany, Chemistry, Physics, and Zoology), 03 for Arts (Geography, Psychology, and Home Science), 02 for Computer Science, and 01 for Information Technology with net connectivity, LCD projectors, computer PCs and printer facilities. 01 GIS-Remote Sensing Lab & 01 Language Lab has also been set up under UGC-CPE Scheme. All the laboratories have adequate instrumentation and consumables to meet the needs of the existing UG And PG curricula and are often upgraded to deal with the dynamic curriculum of a better schooling system. 

AUDITORIUM:

The multipurpose College auditorium with an area of 800 sq. meters equipped with good quality sound system and lighting equipment and having a seating capacity of about 1000 is regularly used to host extra-curricular activities like cultural programs, activities of national and international importance like Yoga Day, National Youth Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Christmas Gathering, etc. 

SEMINAR HALL:

The College has an ICT-enabled Seminar Hall with a seating capacity of 100 which regularly hosts staff meetings, faculty enrichment programs, and extra-curricular activities for skill development of students in blended mode. 

LIBRARY:

The College has an automated library enriched with more than 35000 books, a considerable number of journals, periodicals, and newspapers, and an e-library browsing center with Wi-Fi for loose get right of entry to e-journals and e-books beneath neath INFLIBNET e-ShodhSindhu N-LIST and presents get right of entry to different virtual projects beneath neath MoE to sell strengthen getting to know and research.

SPORTS:

Under the Sports for Development program, the college provides karate and netball training to interested students in the playground with an area of 10100 sq. meters. Students may also avail other indoor and outdoor game facilities like Chess, ludo, uno, carom, badminton, hockey, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, etc. for recreation, practice, and participation in national-level events.

MEDICAL:

The college has a health room with first-aid facilities to cater to the students/staff who need medical help. The College has also arranged weekly visits by lady doctors keeping the health and wellness of students in the list of priorities.

INTERNET FACILITIES:

The academic building of the college provides access to internet services through Wired and Wireless LAN. Provision for access to internet facilities for students has been made in the computer and IT labs and e-library browsing center, while faculty have user accounts for internet access within the campus.

Students seeking admission in Intermediate, Graduation Degree & Post Graduation courses should apply in the prescribed admission form as early as possible after the publication of the results of the qualifying examination (Matriculation, ICSE, CBSE and Intermediate, 10+2, Graduation Course).
