Established in 1887 by the amalgamation of Hyderabad School and the Madarsa-i-Aliya, Nizam College is one of the oldest and most esteemed institutions of higher education in South India. It was affiliated to the University of Madras for 60 years after its inception, and was made a Constituent College of Osmania University on 19th February 1947.

Library
Nizam College Library Nizam College library was established in 1986 and was conceived as an educational Resource Centre. The library is centrally situated within its main Library Block of the campus. Despite the Central site of the facility it is a peaceful and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for both faculty and students to be focused. Library operations are computerized and has total automation using New Genlib Software in all activities.
It covers an area of around 1022.196 square yards, with an allocated reading hall of 3801 square feet. It can accommodate a capacity of around 150 people in the Reading space and 30 students sitting in the Study Centre area with 926.29 square. feet, and 13 computers that provide access to the digital Library, OPAC and Lending Section. The books are distributed to staff and students using a the bar-coding system.
Auditorium:
An auditorium that is state-of-the-art and has a large capacity seating that serves as a meeting place for students, faculty and corporate leaders to meet regularly for conferences, interfaces and other gatherings. The seminars and conferences do are not just a way to provide students with an insider's view on the various disciplines, but also provide them with the chance to have their questions answered. They can ask numerous questions. The auditorium, which has the capacity of 200 and centrally air-conditioned is another highlight of the campus.
