Named after an eminent economist & Ex central Government Minister, Honorable Late Shri NKP Salve, NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre and Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, Nagpur was established in 1990, at Sitabuldi with a commitment to health for all. The Institute was initially set up in Sitabuldi and was then shifted to Digdoh Hills, Hingna Road. The institution had started off with an aim to fill in the additional need for medical education in the region and to be able to deliver health services to patients in and around central India.

The college campus has 7 hostels. There are separate boys' and girls hostels for undergraduate students. There is a common hostel for girls and boys doing post-graduation. The hostels are named Sahayadri, Satpuda, Narmada, Vainganga, Vindyachal, and Gangasagar. The hostels have provisions for accommodation for students who come from different parts of the country. Admission

NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre offers admission to the majority of UG and PG courses on the basis of national-level entrance exams such as NEET UG, and NEET PG. The candidates need to first apply for the respective entrance exam and then appear for the counseling process conducted by DMER Maharashtra.
