Nadar Mahajana Sangam S. Vellaichamy Nadar College was started in 1965 by the “Nadar Mahajana Sangam” with the encouragement of the generous donations received from philanthropic members of the Sangam. Kodaivallal, Kalvithanthai Thiru.S.Vellaichamy Nadar of Virudhunagar has contributed largely for the creation of this institution by his enthusiastic assistance in all ways. In order to perpetuate his pleasant memory, this College has been named after him.
The College has planned its work so as to have a well-integrated scheme of instruction, tutorial help, and personal guidance coupled with healthy living and community activities to suit individual needs. The objective is to inculcate the habits of punctuality and a sense of responsibility among students so that they become worthy citizens of India. The Nadar Mahajana Sangam S Vellaichamy Nadar College become set up to provide accountable experts to society with moral values. The management with numerous impressive facilities and sophisticated infrastructure is stepping ahead and is contributing its best to serve the nation. With the support and guidance of eminent faculty members the campus is organizing various innovative events that boost the confidence of all the students.
The College was inaugurated on 20th July 1965 by our beloved National leader ‘Bharat Ratna Thiru. K. Kamaraj. Today this co-educational citadel of learning has developed into a postgraduate and research institution imparting quality education with the main emphasis on conduct and character development. Even though it is run by the Nadar Mahajana Sangam, the institution caters to the needs of all, without any discrimination of caste, creed, or religion.
Nadar Mahajana Sangam S Vellaichamy Nadar College, Madurai is approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and affiliated with Madurai Kamaraj University.
Nadar Mahajana Sangam S Vellaichamy Nadar College, Madurai courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Computer Applications, Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), etc Postgraduate Degree i.e Master of Science (M.Sc.) The college owes an alumni association in which all the ex-students who are well-settled in the industry share their professional experience with students who are about to face interviews in the corporate world.
Library;
The library has been provided with a sufficient reading area. Books are kept in spacious and nice-looking racks. Reference and competitive exam books are kept in specially designed bookshelves for students’ convenience. Now, the library has more than 65,000 books. The value of the books is around one crore The reading materials provided in the library are Encyclopedia Britannica, Master plots, Dictionaries, Yearbooks, important books, and periodicals Every yearbook on various disciplines is purchased and added to the library. The open-access system is followed. So users can easily approach the books and borrow them.
Auditorium:
A new dining hall and auditorium are built for the betterment of students. Every week the hostel busies itself with different kinds of activities that enable the hostellers, mostly from a rural background, to exhibit and nourish their talents at their best.
Sports:
The college is endowed with a Bad-Minton Indoor Court, Indoor Fitness Centre, Ball Bad-Minton Court, 2 numbers of Flight Light Volleyball Court, Basket Ball Court, Kho-Kho Court, a Cricket Ground, a Track for 400mts, Hand Ball Court and an Indoor Stadium, Grant received for the indoor stadium.
The management trains every student to face the challenging world by giving immense training. A dedicated cell works for the goodwill of the students by conducting a few sessions for personality development and to improve technical skills along with managerial qualities.
The library provides a huge collection of knowledge resources and innovative services to stimulate creativity and facilitate learning & research among the student community.
We will excel in collecting, preserving, and providing access to the best educational resources, providing various services, and creating a welcoming and comfortable physical environment.
