Facilities and Infrastructure

Sports:

Good healthy practices significantly improve our Health, Physical Fitness, and Working Capacity enabling us to use our leisure time more beneficially and thereby adding more years to our life. The Department of physical education aims in improving the sportsmanship of our students. The college has produced many outstanding students and has brought laurels to us through various games and sports events. Every year, the college conducts volleyball tournaments for the school students of Kanyakumari Dist. Last year nearly 16 teams from various schools participated and won prizes in zonal and University athletic meets. Nearly 67 prizes have been won by our students in the events conducted by the Tamilnadu Sports Authority meeting.

NSS:

The NSS aims at providing opportunities for students to serve society so as to make the members develop into better citizens. The regular activities of the NSS include Orientation Programmes as well as fieldwork. The Orientation programmers are spread over four Semesters covering the topics like National Integration, Rural Development, Planting trees, Lab-to-land technology, theatre arts, evils of the dowry system, awareness of rainwater harvesting, etc. 

The college has Three units of the National Service Scheme enrolments of students from the degree classes are done on a voluntary basis. Every year 7 days of special camp activities are conducted focusing on a social theme.

Medical:

NICAS has medical care center which includes two physicians, sufficient nursing staff, emergency room with inpatient services inside the campus for both the students and staff members. 

Alumni Associations:

The NICAS-ALUMNI Association's strength crossed the landmark of 2000 in the previous academic year. All the Alumni members who have completed their graduation in our college have completed or are doing Post Graduate courses in prestigious institutions or have been placed in reputed Software, Hardware, BPO, Banking, and other industries. 

Placement

Noorul Islam College of Arts and Science has a Placement and Career Guidance Cell. The Cell organizes periodic facilities of campus interviews for final year and former students of the college. It is also framed with a motive of proper guidance for students in pursuing future studies and proper careers. It aims to provide opportunities for all students for getting jobs as soon as they complete their graduation. The placement cell comprises the Placement officer, all final year class counselors, and Staff & student representatives. The top recruiters of NICAS are Wespon, Vdart, TCS, CTS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, etc.

Admission

Candidates must have passed in H.Sc with physics, chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, and Biology subjects with at least 50% marks in all subjects. Also, 5% relaxation is given to the SC/ST students(45% marks required).
