The OFK College grew from a college run by the ordnance factory management committee in 1980 to a college taken over by the government in 1985. This is the only government coeducation institution in Jabalpur having three faculties (Commerce, Science, Arts) and delivering quality education at all levels. Today it caters to providing a vision for quality education to students from diverse backgrounds, irrespective of region, religion, caste, economic strata, and academic performance in earlier years. The college is located in Khamaria, surrounded by natural beauty and a healthy environment where most students belong to Defences factory workers' families and nearby villages which mostly are of reserved category SC/ ST/ OBC who are provided with all necessary facilities for all-round development.
