Pt. Mohan Lal SD College for Women, Gurdaspur had its humble beginning in 1995. The college is founded and crafted on the lofty ideals of Pt. Mohan Lal Ji is an immortal luminary, a paradigm of perfection and a true Karamyogi who served as former Home, Finance, Education and Industries Minister, in Punjab. He disseminated his ideas of giving women's education a new introduction and the college is the result of the same. For his commendable services to the cause of Education, GNDU bestowed upon him the 'Honoris Causa' Degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

In this academic session, 963 books and 1 newspaper ( Economics Times) have been added to the already existing stock. It has a well-equipped auditorium with a seating capacity of over 250 people. The auditorium is spacious, well ventilated and has well-furnished halls. This auditorium has all the facilities to enhance the learning process and is a vast space that serves the varied requirement of quality education.

LABORATORIES:

Every department has excellent laboratory infrastructural facilities and the students are trained in the laboratories to enhance their practical skills. New and updated equipment is regularly incorporated in labs with the latest technology, which gives the students an added advantage. There are separate fully equipped and spacious practical labs for Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Bio-Technology, Botany, and Zoology.
