Infrastructure and Facilities
Library:
The Central Library of Panihati Mahavidyalaya started with the establishment of Panihati Mahavidyalaya in 1976. The Central Library is situated on the ground floor of the main building. Currently, it has over 15,000 books and 10 journals. The material and resources are entirely closed access. Recently KOHA (version 3.14) has been installed to automate the library operations.
Auditorium:
The well-furnished, spacious College Auditorium with a seating capacity of 300, is used extensively to conduct cultural and academic functions periodically.
Admission
A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination is eligible to seek admission to the First Semester of the Six Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Honours and General) Course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.
Selection of students for admission to B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com courses is based only on the student's academic records. For detailed information regarding rules, regulations, and procedures of admission, the inquiry may be made at the college office and website (www.pmv.ac.in) immediately after the publication of the results of the Higher Secondary Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or Equivalent examinations. All applications for admission must be made in the prescribed forms available online. Admission forms duly filled in are to be submitted online within the stipulated date and time. Forms not properly filled in will automatically be rejected. Merit list will be duly notified online and selected applicants will be directed to pay the necessary charges on a specified date, failing which the claims for admission shall be forfeited. All admissions are treated as provisional. The college reserves the right to cancel any admission which may appear forged or non-conforming to the admission rules of the college and West Bengal State University.
