Dr. Dodla Ramachandra Reddy founded the Visvodayan Society in Kavali in 1952, convinced that education is the only weapon that can eradicate poverty. PBR Visvodaya Institute of Technology and Science was established under the auspices of the Visvodaya Society in 1998 and initially enrolled 180 students for core courses in  Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, CSE Artificial Intelligence, CSE Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence. Intelligence and Machine Learning, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Currently, the total intake is 1,482, including 1,200 in the UG program, 102 in the five MTech disciplines, and 180 in the MBA program.

University Campus 

The college has a uniquely designed and well-maintained campus with an area of ??over 25 hectares. The college is located in the middle of green fields, in a peaceful, pollution-free environment conducive to education.  The college is well equipped with spacious, well-designed, well-furnished classrooms with LCD projectors. All engineering and science laboratories are equipped with the latest equipment. Laboratories and workshops are fully equipped with the latest equipment; Above all, the added value of the college is the computer laboratories, CAD/CAM center, internet center, and language laboratory. 

The solar projects will increase green electricity and pollution-free campus. 

Student life 

PBR VITS is equipped with well-equipped laboratories, classrooms with audio-visual aids, RandD laboratories, and a Wi-Fi facility. In addition, the facility has adequately provided all amenities such as hostels, canteen, transport, and sports facilities. Alumni of the institution are in good standing and communicate regularly with faculty and students. Students are given adequate pre-training and exposure to industry-related projects, which equips them with the necessary skills to find a suitable job. Social activities are an important part of the institution as students and staff actively participate in NSS programs and serve the needs of Navavikas. PBR Visvodaya Institute of Technology and Science is an enterprise that provides food to the elderly and poor. 

Guest house 

PBR Visvodaya Institute of Technology and Science offers hostel accommodation on campus for boys and girls. About 800 students study in both boys' and girls' hostels. Inns have spacious and well-ventilated rooms, well-maintained washrooms, and hygienically maintained kitchens and dining areas. All necessary amenities like Wi-Fi, RO water system, shops, first aid, etc. are available to students 24/7. Generators are also available for electrical backup.

The cafeteria serves the needs of students and staff throughout the day. Food is served cleanly and hygienically at an affordable price. The cafe offers a variety of snacks, breakfast products, drinks, and meals. 

Placement 

The placement cell of the college often interacts with various companies and invites them for campus interviews. The placement cell organizes training programs to improve the skills required for interviews, group discussions, etc. It also invites HR managers from various organizations to conduct training programs for final-year students.  At Visvodaya, the personality development program is part of the curriculum. Carefully designed multifaceted personality development modules enable students to identify and overcome their limitations and thus become competent technocrats and highly capable engineers.
