The Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences for Girls now renamed as "Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences" named after the great social reformer THANTHAI PERIYAR made its inception on 17th April 1982 at Tiruchirapalli by the Periyar Maniammai Educational and Charitable Society, Chennai.

After THANTHAI PERIYAR and ANNAI MANIAMMAIYAR, their illustrious successor Thiru K.VEERAMANI M.A.,B.L., has taken up the Herculean task of ushering young women into Pharmacy education and to a new era of scientific temperament by leading this institution exclusively for women in the whole World.The college had a humble beginning with minimum students in Degree in Pharmacy. It has grown from strength to strength.

Auditorium:

In these days of fierce competition, professionals need to be good at a variety of skills like public speaking, presentation, argument debate, etc. They also should be able to explore other dimensions of human life like music & drama, dance and other cultural activities.

In order to serve these needs, our campus of also houses a large amphitheater. This theater boasts of an ultra modern sound system, which is capable of being reconfigured to suit different needs. It can be used for pumping out a heart-thumping disco. The stage is wired for 24 audio channels. We also have standard, boom, wide-angle microphones; and. wireless mics are used for question & answer sessions. The stage has a full-fledged lighting system with dozens of spots, floods, and dimmers. An automatic lighting programmer gives us the capability to program any sequence for cyclic or intermittent operation.

It's the right place for students to enjoy themselves by doing various things they are interested in, which also provides a means to enhance their overall personality. We also have a well-equipped seminar hall, which is used for conferences and workshops.

Gymnasium:

College offer services and memberships for students, staff and graduates, and the general public. A range of membership options is available, including Gym Plus monthly memberships. The Gymnasium is staffed by qualified and experienced professionals.
