The PET Engineering College is sponsored by Popular Educational Trust, a registered Charitable Trust.PET Engineering College, Thanjavur was established by Popular Educational Trust on September 28, 1998. The trust came into existence in 1996 and is completely devoted to imparting world-class technical education to the youth of the country. It is situated at a 57-acre area on Vallioor – Tiruchendur Highway, 3 Km from the town of Vallioor. Its nearest Railway station Vallioor is 3km away.

Library:

Central Library is a well-ready library having greater than 41,420 volumes of books for numerous branches of Engineering (27,897 Volumes) like EEE, CSE, MECH, and CIVIL and also having books (4,495 Volumes) to Science and Humanities relevant to the students. Also, our library is having books (9,028 Volumes) for the postgraduate department like MCA and MBA.

LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT LAB:

English is an international language used worldwide in business communication. Globalization and the advent of information technology added importance to proficiency and fluency in English. Only those who have good mastery and fluency in the language are able to get lucrative assignments in MNCs.The Management has realized the importance of English and set up an English language laboratory, since the very inception of the College and has now upgraded it.

COMPUTER CENTER:

The Common Computer Center is equipped with 36 Core i5 Computer systems. The Lab is equipped with an Uninterrupted power supply system for backup. The Lab is kept open from 9.00 a.m to 7.00 p.m for all the Department students. All the systems are connected to have 40 Mbps Leased Line Internet for the benefit of the student community.

HOSTEL:

Separate hostel for boys and girls provided in the college. Hostels provide the students nutritious and wholesome food and ample convenience for rest and relaxation and unhindered study.The Hostel is provided with fans, tables, cots, chairs etc.Spacious Rooms, Dining Halls, Steam Cooking for rice & idli, Kitchen and modern facilities like Automatic Chapatti machine, Vegetable cutting machine, Atta kneader, Automatic Coconut scraper machine, PEST-O-FLASH machines for Insect trap are available. 

INTERNET:

College is having a 50 mbps Leased Line Internet connection, locally networked and connected through wi-fi also to the central server are available for students for their project work and preparing seminar presentations. It also has access to e-books, study materials, previous question papers, daily circulars etc. through the college Local Area Network. Students and Staff members can surf net to impart the latest trends in their field of interest through the well-equipped computer center as well as other labs.

SPORTS AMINITIES:

PETEC Management has given ample opportunity to the students to excel in sports and games through excellent infrastructure. The following facilities for outdoor games are there.Table Tennis,Carrom board,Chess,Shuttle Cock etc

TRANSPORTATION:

College buses are plying from Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Marthandam, Tisayanvilai, Kayal Pattinum and Kalakadu exclusively for our students and staff at a very nominal fare. Women's Hostel inmates are provided free transport between Hostel and College in the morning, lunch and evening.

CANTEEN:

College has spacious canteen facility in the college premises. A variety of South Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college at subsidized rates with best quality. Canteen has a big kitchen with steam cooking facility and RO treated water.
