The PGP College of Education, Promoted by Dr.Palani G.Periasamy is a dream that has come true. It is a grateful gift of a son of the soil to his native place. It has been a long cherished dream of Dr.Palani G.Periasamy, to start a college close to his native place to cater to the intellectual needs of the youth of Tamil Nadu in general and of Namakkal district in particular. This dream has taken a concrete shape with the starting of this college in 2005.

The PGP College of Education is promoted by Dr.Palani G.Periasamy, an NRI from the USA, an Educationist, and Industrialist. He is very much interested in developing institutions of excellence, catering to the needs of rural youth. As part of his vision to offer quality education, he has come forward to start a College of Education to generate quality teachers who mold young boys and girls into responsible citizens of the nation. PGP College of Education is committed to creating a passion for teaching among the youth of India and will ensure the overall development of the student teachers.

Accreditations and Ranking :

The College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and accredited by Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University, Salem.

Courses offered Bachelor of Education in Computer Science, Economics, English, Geography, History, Home Science, Social Science, Tamil, Mathematics, and Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Communication Engineering). Master of Education.

Infrastructure and Facilities:

Hostel:

This facility is available for both boys and girls. The hostel at PGP  can accommodate over 1900 boys and 600 girls in single, double, and triple-sharing rooms. Facilities such as Wi-Fi, RO water purifier, mess, and canteen are available for the comfort and convenience of students.

Library:

The central library of this college is set on an area of 5000 sq. ft. It sees foot traffic from 500 students on a daily basis. The air-conditioned library boasts a collection of over 25000 volumes. Students and faculty can also access 92 national journals, 56 international journals, and 526 e-journals. The library is also fitted with a video lecture hall where IIT professors through NPTEL deliver lectures.

Laboratories:

The campus is equipped with laboratories required by students belonging to different branches. They are air-conditioned and fitted with modern amenities and equipment for practical sessions. Independent internet labs are available, with computers loaded with required software according to different branches.

Transport:

A fleet of college buses provides transportation to students commuting daily from neighboring towns.

WIFI:

The entire PGP campus is provided with a Wi-Fi facility. Provision for printing within the campus makes it a self-sufficient hub for working on projects, thesis, etc.
