PMSA Pookoya Thangal Memorial Arts and Science College were started during the academic year 2003 -2004 by Villoor Educational and Charitable Trust. The College was named after Pookoya Thangal who was a great Islamic scholar and orator, who dedicated his life to uplift the poor and downtrodden masses of Malabar. He was also a great political leader and President of the Indian Union Muslim League. PMSA Pookoya Thangal Memorial Arts and Science College are affiliated with the University of Kerala with the objective of offering university-level education in emerging areas of Science, Technology, Commerce, and Management and building up the vital infrastructure for the aspirants of higher education, especially from the weaker and minority sections of the society.

Infrastructure and Facilities:

The campus life at PMSA is wholesome, easy, and fun-filled and offers a complete suite of facilities that are very self-sufficient to both students and faculties. The college has spacious classrooms, an auditorium, laboratories, conference halls, panel rooms, and sports facilities.  The infrastructure has been augmented to suit the growing needs of students and additional funds have been set aside for effective upkeep.

Media Room

For the purpose of digital editing & recording purposes, our college has a well-equipped media room. It’s a dedicated multipurpose space that is furnished with a large flat-screen television, surround sound, digital cameras, and cozy seating.

Hostels

Both men’s & ladies' hostels are on campus and in close proximity to the college. The hostellers are provided with a cot, cupboard, study table, and chair. Every hostel has a WiFi facility, a common telephone, a TV room, a reading room, a visitor's lounge, water coolers, generators, 24×7 security, and surveillance cameras. The hostels also have facilities for indoor and outdoor games.

Transportation / Conveyance

A fleet of buses, cars, and vans is maintained on the campus to provide transport facilities to the students and staff.

Canteen

The college has a spacious canteen facility providing a variety of south Indian food and snack items to the students and staff, with the highest quality.

Sports

The college provides the necessary infrastructure that helps the students not only to stay healthy but also to develop sportsmanship. The sports facilities on the campus consist of a football ground, cricket pitch, and volleyball and badminton courts. The campus has facilities for indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess, and Caroms.
