Podhigai College of Engineering and Technology ( PCET ) was established in the year 2009 by the Kamaraj Educational Charitable Trust, Tirupattur. The institution is led by the renowned Chairman Thiru. Rtn.B.Ganeshmul, and Secretary Thiru.Rtn. Yelagiri V. Selvam, and is known for its commitment to imparting technical education in a disciplinary environment. These pioneering educators established the Engineering Colleges with the idea of bringing out institutions with highly eminent and talented engineers to serve any part of the world.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Library:

The library is housed in a spacious area of 690 sq.m., The library is open to students and staff members from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on all working days. The library has a rich collection of Reference Sections, Magazine Sections,s and Stack areas. Presently there are more than 12,000 books and reference volumes stacked for the benefit of staff and students. There is an established media resource center. Our library follows the open access system and is encouraging students to browse in the stack area.

Auditorium:

Podhigai College of Engineering and Technology (PCET) has a large Auditorium with state-of-the-art Audio-Visual facilities to conduct, National & International Conferences, Workshops, and Symposia. The auditorium has advanced facilities viz. Audio DSP, iPad Docking station, and video conferencing.

Hostel:

Podhigai College of Engineering and Technology (PCET) provides the best possible comfort needed for students. The number of students accommodated in a room depends on the semester. As the concentration and privacy required are more as a student progresses to final year accordingly the accommodation is provided. There are three mess facilities one for first year and the other two for seniors. There are exclusive Vegetarian mess facilities. The hostelites are provided sports, a gymnasium, and browsing facilities.

Laboratories:

Labs at Podhigai College of Engineering and Technology are of unmatched quality and at par with any other foreign institutions Labs at Podhigai College of Engineering and Technology are equipped with technically advanced, precision-engineered instruments and machines so as to enable our students to be the best.

Internet:

Our college has a dedicated internet lab working 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. We give free internet access to our students. We have 255 Mbps 1:1 dedicated leased line internet connectivity (155 Mbps from Reliance and 100 Mbps from Vodafone). The internet can be accessed from more than 250 computers. We started migrating from proprietary software to Free and Open Source Software 7 years back and as a result, most of our computers are operated only on Open Source Technologies now. We are using free and open source software in replacement of commercial software wherever possible. We have installed proprietary software in very few labs just to explore the technologies for the students and faculty.

Sports:

The campus has 6000 sq. ft. of indoor facilities for Chess, Carom, Table Tennis, Volley Ball, and Badminton and outdoor facilities for Volley Ball, Foot Ball, Tennis, and Ball Badminton. We have two qualified Physical Education staff to train the students. Students sent for participating in Inter-Collegiate Sports and games have won many trophies in various events. Our Volleyball team is an unbeaten State Champion and has won many tournaments in national-level inter-collegiate matches.

Transport:

Podhigai College of Engineering and Technology (PCET) has its own fleet of buses for the transport of the students and staff from various locations of Tirupattur, Vaniyambadi, Thiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri surrounding areas to the College so as to enable them to reach the college in time and return comfortably. This arrangement helps them to maintain punctuality and to have safe travel.

Training and Placement

The training & Placement department helps prepare engineering graduates and passed out students in finding suitable jobs in reputed organizations. This cell works outplacement strategies based on current as well as further job markets and takes into account the emerging job profile so that these may provide upward mobility in the career graphs of our students. Invitations are sent to the prospective companies/organizations along with all relevant information to participate in the campus recruitment.
