Panakkad Pookoya Thangal Memorial Arts & Science College, Cherur (PPTM College) was established in the 2013-2014 academic year. It is chaired by Yatheem Khan's PPTM Committee. The committee aimed to provide quality and moral education in a supportive cultural environment. It would help single out the backward sections of the region's population who have traditionally been kept out of education. The college is affiliated with Calicut University and recognized by the Government of Kerala in under a self-funded strand. The College offers education in five UG programs under the University of Calicut's "CUBCSS" Semester Elective Credit System. The college is located in a historically significant place - Cherubin. The region creates a conducive atmosphere for knowledge acquisition. It is 3 km from Vengara town, 15 km from District Headquarters, Malappuram Railway Station, and Parappanangadi; and 10 miles from Calicut International Airport and Calicut University.

They are equipped with the latest multimedia innovations, and most of them have 17-inch LCD screens, which are less straining on the eyes, generate less heat and consume less energy, making the classroom atmosphere comfortable for children.  We use our LAN with Windows XP for teaching and learning, documentation, and presentations.
