The presentation of the Puthenvelikara College of Applied Sciences, affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, a Latino minority Catholic institution, is the diocese of Kottapuram's first venture towards higher education. Rev Dr.  Francis Kallarakkal, former Bishop of Kottapuram, introduced this prestigious institution to the public on November 18, 2002, whose main purpose was to provide deserving students regardless of caste and creed with a college education and young people with a holistic education into an enlightened society.  The beginnings of the institute consisted of two graduate courses in microbiology and biotechnology. The college has now grown into a world-class institution offering nine undergraduate and five graduate programs. The college regularly gets points in its university exams. From the very beginning, our students have gotten some grades by adding feather after feather to their college caps.

Presentation College of Applied Sciences is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Library: 

The college has a spacious library with a large collection of books from different fields. The library is open from 09. Every working day from 00:00 to 16:30.Students can only stay in the library with an ID card, they leave their personal belongings outside. Strict silence is to be observed in and around the library. Books are issued to students with library cards. 

Placement cell: 

Continuously monitors employment opportunities in a variety of fields and conducts on-campus interviews for eligible undergraduate and graduate students.  The aim of the unit is to support students in planning their careers by providing them with information about their interests, talents, and skills in order to better choose their careers.  Education and opportunities are based on student interests and choices. Depending on the course, the on-campus recruiting program begins before the start of the final semester. Student representatives from each department are elected to oversee the selection process.
