Providence Women's College is a college, offering undergraduate, and postgraduate courses and opportunities for doctoral and post-doctoral studies. Founded by the sisters of Apostolic Carmel, it is located in Kozhikode, Kerala, and was established in the year 1952 under the Madras University.
Providence Women’s College, Calicut, is one of the largest higher education centers for women in the state of Kerala. It was established in 1952 by the Sisters of Apostolic Carmel, as a noble initiative to spread the message of empowerment through education among the women folk in the Malabar region. After the initial years of functioning on the premises of Providence High School, Calicut, the college shifted to its own building atop the picturesque Florican Hill. Providence College is the result of the collective effort of a committed group headed by our founder Principal, Mother Gabrielle.
Providence Women’s College is Affiliated with the University of Calicut and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Accreditations by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Providence Women’s College Courses are offered by the Undergraduate Programs (BA) Travel And Tourism Management, (B.Com), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) General, and Postgraduate Programs Master of Commerce (M.Com), Master of Arts (MA) English, Master of Science (M.Sc.) Computer Science.

Library:
The college is registered under the NLIST program and hence entitled to access the e-resources (6000+e-journals and 31,35,000 +e-books). The staff and students of the college may log in to the website of NLIST and enjoy the above facilities. The login details are available with the Librarian. Registered users can access e-journals and other electronic resources using NLIST. Institutional resources like previous year’s question papers, newspaper clippings, e-books, and dissertation thesis are made available to the users through Digital Library using D space. There is also an institutional repository. The library has a Plagiarism Checking facility using URKUND-Original software (supported by UGC INFLIBNET) access provided by Calicut University. The software helps to detect possible plagiarism in a document and generates a report showing the similarities with other documents.
