PT Sarvajanik College of Science, Surat was established in 1935 and is run under the Sarvajanik Education Society. The college came into existence formally in June 1960. It is affiliated to Gujarat University (GU). It offers Bachelor and Master of Science, Master of Philosophy, and Ph.D. programs in major streams and is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college has a well-furnished infrastructure and separate accommodations for girls and boys with all modern facilities. The college has a placement cell that provides proper guidance to the students that helps them in their placements. The college aims to make the students explore new theories of science through research.

Pavillion
The heritage structure of the Institute building is accompanied by a heritage pavilion and playground. There are two separate pavilions earmarked for different indoor activities. The pavilion buildings house the respective gymkhana and also serve as an indoor games arena. Facilities exist for playing carrom, table tennis, badminton, and combative sports like judo, karate, wrestling, taekwondo, and boxing. The pavilions are also used for yoga and weight training.

The fertilizer necessary for maintaining the botanical gardens is obtained from a vermicompost unit installed on campus and which converts dry waste into natural fertilizer Our institute has collaborated with the nature club, Surat to establish a garden enriched with the butterfly attracting plant

Admission Procedure
P. T. Sarvajanik College of Science, Surat was started in the year 1935 with the affiliation of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. It is a magnificent institute with all the needed facilities and required equipment. It has got a well-established library, well-equipped laboratories, spacious playground, transport and above all, well qualified and dedicated staff members. All of these together help to impart a high standard of education to society.

The centralized admission process for B. Sc. (Semester I) was conducted by Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. The admission process begins soon after Gujarat Board HSC exam results are declared.

First Year B.Sc.
The college has introduced a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in all the classes. The candidates seeking admission to this college will have the following choices of groups at B. Sc. SEM- I out of which one has to select any one:

(1) For A group students, i.e., those who had opted for Physics (P), Chemistry (C), and Mathematics (M) at the HSC level, the possible groups are a) CPM, b) CMS, and c) PMS where S stands for Statistics.

(2) For B group students, i.e., those who had opted for Physics (P), Chemistry (C), and Biology (B) at the HSC level, the possible groups are: a) CPB and b) CPZ where B stands for Botany and Z stands for Zoology.
