The institute started conducting undergraduate courses under the title D.A.S.F. in 1942. In 1971, by permission of C.C.I.M., a B.S.A.M. course was started and the college became the "Bombay University". The current B.A.M.S. course started in 1973 at Bombay University. Every year 60 students get an opportunity to study 'The Ayurved Science of Life' at this prestigious institute. Since 1983, the college has also conducted M.D. / PRL. (advanced courses) courses successfully. About 20-25 students a year study postgraduate courses there in various departments such as Kayachikitsa, Shalya, and Shalakya; in this oldest institute. It is an approved research center for Ph.D. studies in the field of Ayurveda.
