Rajamahendri Institute of Engineering and Technology popularly known as “RIET” was established in the year 2008 near Pidimgoyyi in Rajahmundry by “The Swarnandhra Educational Society” pioneered by Technocrats, Academicians, and Philanthropists with a concrete plan to offer excellence in technical education and to meet the present as well as the changing needs of the corporate sector. The college is located in a peaceful and lush green environment away from the din and bustle of the crowded city life which is free from pollution and congenial to attain technical knowledge. The nearest airport is at Madhurapudi which is 15 km away from the college and the nearest Railway station is at Rajahmundry which is 8 km away from the college. The college is well connected by National Highway 16 to all parts of the district as well as the state.

Infrastructure

The college has networks that are interconnected with high-speed Ethernet links operating over optical fiber such as gigabit Ethernet. Tiered hierarchal architecture is used to establish a campus network with core, distribution, and access segments for the efficient flow of information and data traffic. the college upload and download speeds range from 40 Megabits/second.

The completely automated and digital library houses a comprehensive collection of over 25,500 volumes and 2680 titles covering the entire gamut of engineering disciplines.

The college subscribes to several reputed national and international journals, both printed and e-journals about the prescribed curricula as well as general and technology related. Xerox and Internet facilities are available in the Library.

The college has a Seminar hall that has a theatre-style setting, spread over an area of 4000 sq. feet. It can comfortably accommodate 500 individuals. It is fully air-conditioned and is suitable for international conferences, symposiums, meetings, seminars, concerts, presentations, and performances. The hall is fully equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual devices providing services such as video conferencing, a sound system, and audio-visual material.

There are more than 400 systems with the latest configuration supported by necessary accessories and connected through LAN with UPS support.

Well-equipped separate labs are available for all engineering branches with apparatus and other equipment being upgraded periodically as well as for English and communication skills.

The college has more than 23 buses which are made available to the students and faculty members for commuting from various points in the city and also from the suburbs, towns, and villages to the campus and back. This facility has made it possible to start classes on time and thereby helping the academic process. All the buses reach the Campus before 9 A.M and leave campus to leave campus at 4.10 p.m., which helps all the students to reach home early and safely.

The college has Various sports facilities for the students with grounds for volleyball, badminton, and cricket.

The college has a large Mess Hall with a capacity of 200 members to dine at the same time enabling all students and staff to have lunch and breakfast. A large modem kitchen with steam cooking is attached to the mess hall. A modem bakery and ice-cream-making unit are attached to the mess. There is a separate floor one each for Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian in the Mess Block to dine. All students and staff members are provided with lunch and tea every day.
