The Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS), Bikaner is a constituted body corporate established under Sub-section(3) of Section 1 of the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Act, 2010. The University came into existence on 13th day of May,2010.
The Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is a state agricultural university in Bikaner, India. The university was founded in 2010 and is governed by the Rajasthan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Act. The university's purpose is to promote the science and practice of veterinary medicine and animal science in the state of Rajasthan. This Act provides for proper training, education, research, and extension. The act also contains provisions for matters relating to the university. Among its many MOUs, the university has signed with the National Research Council on Camel and Equines, the National Institute for Food Processing, and the IGNOU in the fields of poultry farming and meat technology.
The university is accredited by the National Accreditation Council, the Association of Veterinary Medicine, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
The Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degree (i.e Bachelor of Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc) etc.), Postgraduate Degree (i.e M.V.Sc. in Animal Genetic and Breeding, M.V.Sc. in Veterinary Medicine, etc.), Doctoral levels and many more. Students studying in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Nutrition, and Health Science will find many facilities to help them learn and practice. The university has a rich library where students can check out books. It also has different labs for various departments. The laboratories are equipped with the latest and most modern equipment. In addition, students can avail free wifi on campus. Additionally, classrooms at RUVAS have modern furniture and facilities that are suitable for conducting experiments.
In addition to classrooms, students will be provided with access to laboratory facilities and a central instrumentation facility. In addition, the college offers a veterinary clinical complex that includes a surgical department, a radiology lab, a diagnostic imaging laboratory, a waiting room, and an ambulatory clinical section.
To plan, initiate, guide, co-ordinate and monitor the research in the filed of Veterinary and Animal Science. To maintain liaison with State and Central Government, ICAR, DST and other National and International funding agencies for obtaining the financial support for various veterinary and animal science research programmes.
Make available appropriately trained human resource, generate suitable technologies and transfer new knowledge and technical knowhow to stakeholders for the purpose of enhancing income of farmers and landless owner through Animal Husbandry in Rajasthan.
