The Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing was started with B.Sc (N) in the academic year 2002 followed by M.Sc (N), P.B.B.Sc (N), and GNM courses by eminent educationist and professionals from the city of Bangalore under Jayanagar Modern Education Society®. These educationists had a strong desire to form a career in uplifting and serving mankind and started with a Nursing program. The programs conducted in our college are affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science Bangalore, INC & KNC.

RGCN Bangalore HOSTEL

Our hostel caters to the individual needs of the students. We have separate hostel facilities for the boys and girls. Our hostel provides a feast of delicious vegetables and non vegetables served in spacious and clean dining halls. The hostel is provided with a TV lounge, STD/ISD/Fax, and other facilities for the student on campus.

Ragging is strictly prohibited in the hostel as well as in the college.

RGCN NSS UNIT

NSS unit was started in our college in the academic year 2006 with the intention to involve actively in the community development programs so as to achieve total personality development of students. This is been showcased in various rallies, awareness programs, mass immunization programs, afforestation programs, blood donation camps, and the adoption of villages. The media have appraised our service by publishing our student’s photos in the daily newspaper. Our representatives have rendered services to humanity in all spheres for the upliftment of the community.

RGCN SNA (State Nurses Association)

SNA is very active in our college and organizes various programs based on the SNA calendar of events. The SNA election is held annually at the beginning of the academic year. SNA also participates in intercollegiate cultural & sports activities. Some of the events organized by SNA are Fresher Day, Lamp Lighting ceremony, Graduation & Farewell party, Nurse's Day, National Festivals & Health Days.

RGCN Bangalore Admission Criteria

BSc Nursing

Candidates should have successfully completed two years of Pre-University examination conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education from a recognized board or university and should. obtain a minimum of not less than 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English (PCBE) taken together in the qualifying examination.

The candidate should have completed 17 years on or before the 31st day of December of the year of admission.

The candidate shall be medically fit.

MSc Nursing

Passed B.Sc Nursing (Basic) or Post B.Sc in Nursing or Post Certificate B.Sc Nursing of RGUHS, Karnataka, or any other university accepted as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of health science, Karnataka.

Minimum of 1 year of experience after obtaining a B.Sc Nursing (Basic), in a hospital in a Nursing educational institution or in a community health setting. For candidates with a post-Basic B.Sc Nursing degree, no such experience is needed after graduation.

Registered in State Nursing Council as Registered Nurse & Registered Midwife.

P.B B.Sc Nursing

A Candidate seeking admission shall have: -

Hold a diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

Be a registered Nurse

The candidate shall be medically fit.

Have good personal & professional Record

The age limit of the candidate should not exceed 48 years as of 31st December of the year of admission.
