RGNIYD Placement Cell:

Established in March 2010 at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur, the placement cell is dedicated to facilitating and supporting students in securing placements.  The core responsibilities of the placement cell encompass:

Maintaining a consistent database of potential agencies and firms suitable for placing RGNIYD students.

Emphasizing personality development, team building, and career counseling.

Offering placement training assistance to students.

Creating placement brochures for each batch and distributing them among potential recruiters, also making them available online.

The RGNIYD, Sriperumbudur actively promotes the exploration of placement opportunities for every student by inviting various companies for on-campus recruitment of final-year students.  The placement activities are supervised by the placement committee, led by a senior faculty member serving as Chairperson/Coordinator. The committee also includes faculty and students from all academic departments of RGNIYD.

Key activities of the placement committee involve:

Preparing placement brochures for different student batches.

Conducting career assessments facilitated by experts.

Engaging in communication, networking, and relationship-building with prospective agencies and firms, with regular updates to the database.

Organizing six pre-placement training programs (15 days each) for students from 2010 to 2017.

Formulating a pre-placement training schedule encompassing career counseling, life skills, gender sensitization, project management, etc.

Conducting specialized resume writing workshops for all batches.

Initiating campus interviews from 2012 onwards, with nine conducted so far.

Maintaining records of placed students.

The RGNIYD, Sriperumbudur compiles a Placement Brochure detailing students ready for placement, which is shared with potential recruiters and published on the RGNIYD website. This brochure includes students registered for placement or those who have completed 15 days of pre-placement training. Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, along with online recruiters coordinated by student groups and RGNIYD, are strategically utilized to disseminate students' profiles. 

The RGNIYD, Sriperumbudur Placement Cell has crafted a pre-placement training schedule that covers career counseling, life skills, gender sensitization, project management, etc. Additionally, special communicative English classes (paid courses) are regularly organized to enhance students' communication skills. All fourth-semester students undergo a two-day resume writing workshop to refine their CV preparation skills.
