R. L. Jalappa Institute of Technology was established in 2001 at Doddballapur (Bangalore Rural District) by Sri R. L. Jalappa. He is a visionary social worker, educator, and social worker. RLJIT, a unit in Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust(SDUET), was established in 1986 at Kolar for the benefit of the rural and backward communities. It is accredited to VTU- Belgaum and approved by AICTE- New Delhi. It has a highly qualified, dedicated, and experienced teaching and non-teaching faculty as well as state-of-the art laboratories in all departments.

Infrastructure

RLJIT has one of the most impressive infrastructures. It is situated on 34 acres of land surrounded by greenery gardens. There are separate blocks for each department, well stacked libraries, seminar halls equipped with internet, Wi-Fi facility, and hostels for 600 students. The campus is open 24 hours a day. modern Gymnasium, indoor games, Swimming Pool national-standard playgrounds, and an open-air theater with 2500 seats capacity.

Library:

Our institution has a library and information center that is ranked among the top engineering colleges libraries. The library contains a large collection of 23,900 volumes as well as 5,240 titles from various disciplines.

For the benefit of researchers, students and faculty members, the library subscribes to online journals via VTU consortium.

The library is located on the ground floor in the administrative block. It has a total area of 1080 square meters. There are three sections to the library: issue section, reference section and technical section. The library's reference section has 162 seats. The digital library is equipped with 20 computers and allows access to the internet, ebooks, and ejournals. Many technical magazines and newspapers can be subscribed to the Library.

Hostel:

Both boys and girls can stay in a hostel with attached toilets. Good reading room, recreation center etc. This is the main attraction. There are three types of mess: North Indian, North Karnataka and South Karnataka. There are separate hostel blocks for seniors and juniors. All hostels have a solar heater, good cooking accessories and good ventilation. Wardens are senior faculty members who oversee the Hostel's day-to-day operations and maintain the discipline of its boarders.

There are two girls and one boy hostels within the institution. They are located in six blocks on campus. The hostel has spacious, well-furnished rooms and is secured by CCTV cameras on each floor. With a capacity of 800 students, the hostels are equipped with modern amenities and a homely atmosphere.

Sports:

The Department of Physical Education has modern infrastructure that includes facilities for basketball, volleyball, table tennis, football, hockey, ball badminton and carom. Regular exercise improves strength and endurance, which in turn helps to build a healthy body.
