SLF is a charitable trust which was started in the year 1989 to promote career-oriented education on a non-profit motive basis by Dr. R. Lakshmipathy, a doyen in the Newspaper industry. He is the publisher of the largest circulated Tamil Daily” ‘Dinamalar and also the publisher of the Medical Magazines, ‘The Antiseptic’ and ‘The Health’.

Academic Infrastructure:

Physical Infrastructure:

Spacious air-conditioned classrooms, seminar hall, discussion rooms with modern furniture, LCD Projectors, multimedia-enabled lecture facilities, Medical rooms, and facilities for experiential learning provide a conducive environment to stimulating learning experience. 

Intellectual Infrastructure:

Audio Video Media Room, Broadband-enabled Wi-Fi classroom, Library with over 500 titles on management and about 20 plus leading management journals. (Harvard Business Review), Modern lab facilities with high-speed internet connectivity and a Language lab to cater to the intellectual requirements of the students.

Sports And Games:

Facilities at the campus make the students attain physical growth and sports spirit. Major games like Cricket, basketball, football, volley-ball, hockey etc. are given prime importance. Intra-college and intercollegiate matches and sports day events give the students ample opportunity to develop their talents and skills.

Driving:

A driving school inside the campus trains the students with proper driving and road safety skills as part of their curriculum. It consists of 8 hours of theory classes and on a one-to-one basis provides 8 hours of training on the simulator and 12 hours of ample hands-on practical on-road training. 6

Swimming:

As swimming is a life-saving skill, we at RLIMS believe that all our students must equip themselves with this skill. RLIMS, a unit of SLCS college, has a Semi-Olympic size swimming pool with certified separate trainers for boys and girls, each given 20 hours of practical training.

Placement

The foremost goal of the Training & Placement Cell at RLIMS is, to provide students with a practical learning platform to leverage their potential educational skills to gain valuable corporate experience by doing Internships, and practice school in Banks, Insurance, Logistics, Marketing, and financial sector companies. The training & Placement Cell is the backbone of the college which chiefly focuses on the student’s employment by providing interpersonal skills required for their employment. It also provides placement counseling by analyzing their skills and passion to choose the right jobs. Besides the curriculum, employability skills, aptitude training, Communication Skills, and pre-placement Interview are conducted by the Training and Placement Cell.

The admission process is based on the scores of any one of the entrance exams namely MAT/ XAT/ CAT/ ATMA/ CMAT
