Facilities and Infrastructure at RMD Engineering College 

The College has a fleet of 80 buses, 15 vans, and cars to transport students and staff from Chennai to college and back. These buses operate along 8 routes starting from different points approximately between 6.30 and 6.45 a.m. The starting points are.

The college's central library is located in the new block with a carpet area of 1430 sq. mt. It contains 61224 volumes of books and 14583 titles. The Library subscribes to 36 national Journals, 6 leading international E-journals and E-books databases, 40 Magazines, 16 News Papers, 1828 back volumes of journals, and 6649 CD ROMs. Books are classified and arranged according to the Universal Decimal classification scheme. The value of books, periodicals, and other materials in the library is around Rs.2.22 Crore.

We have a clinic with a full-time doctor and a dispensary with two beds. We also have two ambulance vans available for service. A medical shop is kept open till 9.30 p.m. A clinic, with beds along with an on-call Doctor facility for 24 Hours to take care of the health requirements of the hostel students, is also available.

We have a well-equipped power gym and a hydraulic gym (Air Conditioned) with the latest multiple machines. These gyms could accommodate 100 Students per session. Each session is engaged by experienced trainers. The gym schedule is as follows Physical fitness is given utmost importance. The college hostel facility is equipped with an air-conditioned gymnasium with state-of-the-art equipment, especially for men. Moreover, the Boy's Hostel is annexed with a full-fledged air-conditioned hair grooming center.

Training And Placement at RMD Engineering College 

The Department of Training and Placement at RMD Engineering College was set up in June 2004 for the first time in the history of the College, with a view to enabling the students to get employment opportunities right on campus while they pursue their studies. This department interacts with reputed organizations all over the country for arranging campus interviews for the placement of final-year students. It takes great effort to send most of the students for in-plant training to enhance their technical ability and gain exposure to the practical world. Industrial visits to reputed companies are arranged to know more details about industrial activities.
