The Institute was founded in 1980 under its name Patna Institute of Technology by late Professor. R. P. Sharma who was the generous founder of the Patna Educational Development Trust. He guided the institution by focusing on personal care and a keen eye to make technical education more accessible the reach of every man.Under his visionary, energetic and competent direction, the institute made a great strides and grew into an all-inclusive Engineering Degree College, approved by AICTE, New Delhi, associated with Aryabhatta knowledge University, Patna (w.e.f. session 2018 and onwards) and acknowledged through the Science & Technology Department, Govt. of Bihar.
