Ruben College of Education was established in the year 2005 with the approval of the Government of Tamilnadu and National Council of Teacher Education, Southern Regional Office, Bangalore, and affiliated to the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Abishekapatti, Tirunelveli on 23.11.2005 with an intake of 100 B. Ed students. It was affiliated with the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai in the year 2008 and Accredited with a “B” Grade by NAAC in the year 2012. Ruben College of Education is the brain child of Dr. M. Ruben, the managing trustee of Ruben Educational and Charitable Trust. As the unassuming personality of his dreams the rural village of Thadikkarankonam get a national reputation and cultural pluralism. With the long cherished dream of the trustee the Post Graduate Course M.Ed. degree was started in the academic year 2009-2010 with a total strength of 35 students.

RCE Biological Lab

The college has a well-equipped Technology lab with a slide projector, overhead projector, LCD, Television, VCR, geometrical figures, models, charts, maps, transparencies, slides, whiteboard, flannel board, etc. of standard quality. Technology lab is being utilized by all the lecturers, M.Ed & B.Ed Students. Teachers make use of various aids for the teaching purpose & giving demonstration lessons to make the learning of various topics interesting and effective.

RCE Language Lab

RCE Computer Lab

Our College is surrounded by green hills of the eastern and Western Ghats located about 18 km from Nagercoil, the Headquarters of Kanyakumari District. Admission Requirements

Applications for admission to 100 B.Ed.,50 M.Ed. and 20 M.Phil seats are issued by the college every year during the month of May and June.

Eligibility for B.Ed. admission

A Bachelor’s degree or Post Graduate Degree from a UGC recognized University or a college

BC: 45%

OC: 50%

SC: 40%

Eligibility for M.Ed. admission

Candidates who have obtained at least 55% of marks in the B.Ed. Degrees are eligible for M.Ed. admission.
