Established in the year 1992, R.V. College of Architecture (RVCA) initially started as a Department of Architecture in R. V. College of Engineering (RVCE), Bengaluru.
Established in the year 1992, R.V.The College of Architecture (RVCA) originally began as the Department of Architecture of R. V.College of Engineering (RVCE), Bangalore. In 1995, the department moved to a new freestanding building on the RVCE campus. The department gains autonomy and is renamed the R.V School of Architecture in 2009.
Accreditation and Ranking
Council of Architecture (COA), India, approved its re-designation to R.V College of Architecture. In 2014, it moved to a new campus affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, Karnataka.
Courses offered by
RV College of Architecture, Bangalore courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degree (i.e B.Arch, etc.), Postgraduate Degree (i.e M.Arch, etc.) and Doctoral levels and many more. Separate hostels are provided for Boys & Girls, Forty-three-bed rooms are available in the Boys’ Hostel block. About thirty additional beds are available in the Venkatadri hostel located about 4 kilometers from the campus. A vegetarian canteen offering four meals a day is attached to the hostel for the convenience of students. Inmates at the hostel served vegetarian meals including breakfast, lunch, evening tea, and dinner. The mess menu is decided by the student council. Fine Art Studio:
A facility housed in a space measuring 120 square meters. Students explore their creativity by playing with different mediums such as clay, wax, plaster of Paris, and canvas. The studio is equipped with easels, potter wheels, and other required tools and equipment.
Computer Lab :
The computer laboratory of RVCA facilitates learning and working with the latest software. Sixty standalone systems of the latest configuration are loaded with licensed software including Autocad, Revit, and others.
Sports Facilities:
Outdoor and indoor sports facilities comprising chess, carrom board, table tennis, basketball, badminton court and gymnasium are available within the premises.
A spacious Exhibition hall measuring 180 square meters proudly showcases the works of RVCA students produced in studios. The works on display offer insight into RVCA's philosophical pedagogical approach.
Admission
RV College of Architecture, Bangalore accepts admission through various entrance exams Candidates should qualify in NATA or JEE (Mains) Paper-II.
